I really wanted to love this book. Hockey, enemies to lovers, MM; it ticks all my boxes. But I found the story pacing was strange; it's definitely a slow burn and the MCs first kiss isn't until 75% of the way through. I almost thought it was closed door, until the last 25% threw in some mentions of jacking off and then 2 sex scenes. The ending of the book kind of came out of nowhere, and there was no epilogue to tie it up. I honestly thought towards the end that there might be a second book because of how close to the end I was with no real glimpse of their actual relationship.
I felt some of the tension/conflict in the book wasn't resolved; namely the homophobia from Noah's dad, and the stakes in this book didn't feel overly high.
I also really struggle with 3rd person POVs in books as most of them end up just telling you what happens, instead of showing you. The writing in this book really leaned more to telling, and it makes it hard for me stay immersed. I also find 3rd person POVs make it hard to keep up with all the charavters and who is saying what.
I did love the do or die group chats, and the chapter artwork was beautiful, but this book definitely didn't capture my attention as much as I hoped it would

The concept of this book was good, but the execution left me wanting more. I was exceedingly frustrated at Killian's constant hot/cold demeanour and felt like his reasons behind it didn't draw my sympathy towards him.
If the book was longer than 280 pages, I feel like the story could have been further developed to allow space for the characters to come together naturally, and for the story to expand more. It felt rushed and left me wishing there was more depth; I felt like I was told how the characters were feeling, instead of being shown.
There were a few issues with the chronology and some spelling/syntax errors.

Oh man, this book was so good. Much less spice than previous books, but God the story is so captivating. I cannot wait for the final book and I wish it was here already!
