I've been waiting for River's book since Zane's ended and it did not disappoint. I love all the Crimsin Club boys, but definitely have a soft spot for the twins.

I loved River's explanation of his sexuality, and I will never think about marzipan the same way again. Watching these two process their hurt and love each other was so effing sweet.

It was also really nice to learn more about Quinn and I may have given my kindle a wide-mouthed grin when I saw his story was next. I also get the feeling we might get a Jett book too as he has slowly crept into the last couple of books.

This book was low angst, no third act breakup, and looked at a character who definitely was neurodivergent, but had no diagnosis. Both MMCs story resonated with me and they might be my favourite couple in the series. Now to wait until the next one comes out.

I have read all the books in this series and this one is definitely my second favourite. Lucky Shot was just perfection, but this book broke my heart.

Max's story is so sad, and we (or Max) don't really get closure on it in a traditional sense. Seeing Max's struggles, and his coping mechanisms, depict someone who has struggled with depression for a long time. It's a battle that I know all too well, and seeing how it manifests is close to my own experiences.

Deryke has the patience of a saint, and is exactly what Max needs to rein in his temper. I'm not normally a huge fan of daddy/brat romances, but there was something about this that pulled me in.

These two will be living in my head for quite some time.

This book! It reminded me a lot of Butcher and Blackbird, in regards to the Dark Rom-com vibes. But the story was refreshing, and I have never felt so seen in my life

How fucked up is fucked up?

This book is not for the faint of heart, but hot damn what a roller-coaster. Audrey writes the best dark (not even dark, but pitch fucking black) books out there, and I really appreciate that these aren't 'romance' books. Psychopaths can't love. It says it on the cover 'a psychopath possesses'.

There are definitely some more extreme kinks in this book than other dark romances (piss play) but that completely fits with this narrative and these characters.

Do I like either character? Not really. Did I like them in the context of the story? Absolutely.

You're warned though, this is not a redeemable story. It's not meant to be. There is no romance here. But jesus it was a great story.

Ugh, another cool concept that was poorly delivered. I genuinely enjoyed the 'what the fuck?' element of this book, and it's clear the author is a fan of gore and shock horror.

What was disappointing is how it all wrapped up. It felt like the epilogue was hastily slapped together and didn't really give me much closure, or answer questions. Was she mad? Did she actually know what was happening the whole time? What was with all the other victims; did they make a similar bargain? What was with his mood swing with the barbed wire?

I was frustrated by this story, because I hate unanswered questions. I also have to note that there were a number of spelling and grammatical errors in this short book, which also pulled me out of the moment.
