Whoa! This story was captivating. I received this as an ARC and am providing my honest opinion.
What an incredible world. I was sucked in and desperate to know how this one would end. As it is a series, it ends on a cliffhanger (I wasn't sure if each of these were standalones within the same universe, but this one is definitely a multi-book series), and hot damn now I need to know what happens in all 4 books!
The characters were gorgeous and I fell in love with Auro from the moment he first came onto the page. His pink curls, his soft tummy, everything about him is sweet and beautiful and precious. I felt for Alexios and his sexuality struggle is one that made sense in the context of his world.
The spice was spicing. For a book with such a beautiful cover, I was pleasantly surprised to find some wonderfully detailed scenes between the two MMCs. Watching them explore sex together was perfect for their romance, and seeing this morph from gentle, exploratory sex, to the sex they needed or wanted was also a beautiful journey.
I also liked that there wasn't a lot of dirty talking. I find that after so many books, you become desensitised to the dirty talk. In this, the sex is described in beautiful detail, without added dialogue.
This book is third person POV, but I didn't hate it. Overall, very solid book and now I need the next 3, please and thank you.

This book. Oh my goodness this book.
I cried the whole way through. Ellis loves big and he loves hard. He loves Lucky so much he has to let his firefly spread his wings.
The story is so beautifully written, Emmy has such a beautiful way with words and I was captivated from the first chapter.
Having a neurodivergent main character happens in more and more book, but they're mostly focused on ADHD, so seeing a character on the autism spectrum was so refreshing. And seeing Lucky love Ellis for his autism just made my heart ache because of how beautiful their story is.
Honestly, this is going to be a book I revisit time and again. Absolute stand out

Gray and Jonah. The feels.
Honestly, Gray had me on the verge of tears so many times, because I could feel his loneliness. Specifically, the scene where he sat outside the courthouse, in the smokers area, eating his lunch. It felt so visceral and I just wanted to wrap him in a hug.
Watching the two of them build each other up is exactly what a good romance should do. Two pieces who don't look the same, but make a whole that is better than the sum of its parts.
These two are going to be on my mind for quite some time.
