Good story ! Piece of Shit husband got what he deserved in my humble opinion because he was just trying to play the field for what is the most convenient for him. It was definitely predictable but easy to follow without being distracted.

Absolutely amazing! Evelyn Hugo controlled her story and what a wild, passionate, and strategic life it was. How amazingly well this story was written and very rarely do I ever tear up while reading a book , but this definitely got me. This is one of those moment of debating whether or not they should do a mini series or leave it as is. DO NOT TOUCH!!! Great book!

“We enable well being … “ powerful ending quote for those who are practicing medicine or work with patients at any capacity. Great book!

So… I’m going to rate this book a 2 after DNF’ing at 61 percent, chapter 26. The story of Kayla receiving a mysterious letter from a Dante in jail and being uncertain who this man is and how does he know her was a really good concept going forward , along with the introduction of Aidan, the fixer upper. Then… the story just took a complete turn to a full blown sex , smut between the two characters and it’s completely takes over the context . Being more than half way done with the book, I would’ve thought the communication between Dante and Kayla should have built so much more depth than what we have so far ( which is essentially nothing still) but this book is literally sex filled to an unnecessary capacity.
The characters being my age as well ( Kayla 30 and Aiden 35), there really should have been a bit more character-build and their overall have personality development .. not just a bunny/lion with a mix of cat/mouse play with another man whom we still don’t know who the fuck he is or how he plays ANY part with either character. Kayla, Aidan, and Dante are still strangers to me when I don’t feel like they should be , being 26 chapters in to characters seemingly in their 30s. We don’t know “why” is anything happening at the moment or why she can’t tell Aidan that her husband is dead …. Yet she allows raw sÂŁX from him and love is creeping its way in.
Oh, and somehow a 👻 maybe involved with the goings on in her house … but again it’s just so much unnecessary and elongated sex that it’s distracting. To be quite honest … the story is just got boring after the “spice” started

I really don’t know how to take the book. I feel like this needs to be enjoyed via audible with the various different narrators but it’s kinda written in stanzas and through their own thoughts rather than an active moment with the serial r@pist ( who’s a woman) called Maude. Heavy triggers . HEAVY TRIGGERS!! It’s a bit of a thought provoker as some people are just utterly bold in their questions to the victims and it’s a difficult read as it’s not necessarily a “flowing” story but and accumulation of smaller stories with different victims and their thoughts on Maude and personal emotions. I really don’t know if I’d recommend the book not because it’s bad, because it’s not, it’s just different.

… maybe because I’m 30 and no stranger to 🌶️🌶️ books nor my own sexy experiences, however this book is just off. I have no triggers , however after 6 chapters in I could tell that this book is just riding off of a shock factor, rather than make sense and have a flow. And there’s just something about “as soon as she turns 18, let’s fuck her” type of vibe that I’m just not all on board the choo choo train. DNF

Okay… this was a cute and quick little murder mystery. It was definitely a Lifetime movie type of vibe and predictable but I didn’t expect to be twisted and confused going in since it was only a 2 hour audible listen. Overall , I’d recommend and I completely understand why the killer did what they did.
