  • Diverse cast of characters? No
will need to mull it over a bit more & I'd probably have found it more impactful had I read it at an younger age. 

Having not grown up in the west & in a place that doesn't snow I must say I personally also don't have memories of "going down a hill on a snow sled" or "celebrating Christmas & exchanging gifts with extended families" lol

The romance is a bit too insta-love for my taste but I absolutely adore Sydney. She is so precious.

There is a minor side character who turns out to be a cop which a jumpscare I honestly didn't appreciate.
