Things I liked about this book:

• Interesting concept
• Book about books, so cool!
• Ambitious debut
• Gorgeous cover

Things I did not like about this book:

• World building was clunky and hard to keep up with. I read a lot of fantasy but this book felt like it was making up terms just to have them and a lot of the world building felt like it was only surface level- a term or an off handed explanation with no real context in the story
• The romance in this book went from 0-100 really quick, this was an attempt at enemies to lovers that just didn’t hit for me. I didn’t sense any real connection or pining and then BOOM THEYRE IN LOVE
• The pacing in this was really off. Some parts dragged and then some major plot moments zipped by super rushed.

I think this story had a ton of potential and I would be interested to read later books by this author but probably will not continue with this series.
