pretty generic and a good portion of the advice will be irrelevant by the time I reach retirement. but I still learned a good bit. I'd recommend it to anyone that hasn't started thinking about any of this stuff.

Mesmerized from the start. The writing is beautiful, it reads like a poem.

Though I don't agree with everything in this book, I definitely gained a lot of insight on how phones, increased internet usage, and the rise of AI impact our lives. Person to person conversation is important. So much can get lost in texts and direct messages. Being interrupted by a phone when you're speaking to someone can be upsetting. There are also many other negative side effects covered in this book that I never even considered. However, a lot of the studies covered she never actually sites. Maybe it's because I was listening to the audio book, but rather than say "a study shows that phones decrease empathy", please list which study and who conducted it, where it was at, and other essential information. Other than that, there is a lot to learn about this book and I think it offers an important perspective on setting boundaries with electronics and how to make the most out of face to face conversations.

I really enjoyed the perspective this book gives on dealing with negative emotions. I don't agree with everything that was covered, but I definitely found some helpful techniques and thought processes after reading this. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for new ways to process negative emotions.

I'm redownloading the Witcher 3 and starting a new playthrough after finishing this book. I also found it way better than the show. There's so much detail within Geralt and Ciri that is lost, same goes for Geralt and Dendelion. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone that enjoyed playing the games or even the show!

This is a fantastic book that goes over everything that is wrong with policing and breaks everything down in a very organized way. And what's especially amazing, is after each failure it offers up an alternative solution with evidence, studies, and examples. Anybody interested in police reform and abolition should give this a read. I did the audiobook and the narrator did a great job.

2.5 stars but I'm rounding up. I have enjoyed reading the witcher series a lot so far, but this book was kind of a drag for me.

Compared to the other books in the series, this book seemed long and went on far too long in some instances than I thought were necessary. It felt like a lot of filler, and towards the end, I was just waiting for it to be over. I will say though, the final chapter was fantastic and I'm glad I stuck around long enough to see it unfold.

Disappointed by this book. I knew it was a prequel like the Last Wish, but it wasn't nearly as interesting. it had some fun moments with Geralt and Dandelion, so if that's what you're looking for you'll probably enjoy it. I was told to read this before the main series, but honestly I recommend this as a skip. And if after the main series you're that starved for more adventures of Geralt, this is your book. There isn't anything in this book that moves towards the main witcher plot though. It's like a really long side quest with a couple fun moments.
