i feel quite a lot of the first half of this book and the second half absolutely convinces me that the author is 110% adjacent to the people who would have bullied the shit out of me online back then.

Final Fantasy XIV Picture Book: The Namazu and the Greatest Gift by Square Enix, Banri Oda

As a grown savage raider this book might not be my obvious first choice, but since I read it I can't stop imagining the gentle and delightful world of the namazu... it touched me on a level I haven't been touched in a long time, one no third party modded catgirl could ever reach. This felt like loading into ARR for the first time, on playstation 3, a fresh green sprout atop my head. I am comforted, content, and happy when I read this book, over and over, in my daily crystal tower roulette. I would trade my private estate and mentor crown to just be a humble namazu of the steppe for one day, and not the Warrior of Light.

I love trees. I went vegan because exploiting animals sucks and now I'm in agreement exploiting plants also sucks. It is time to exploit the rich and eat them. Chomp chomp, billionaire boys, the only ethical food source.
