It's a Michael Grant book, of course it's going to be 5 stars.

I was extremely lucky to read this book as I work for Waterstones and it came in as one of the proofs the staff could read and I was super excited to start this. Granted, this is very different to GONE as it doesn't have a dome around the chaos, it's the whole world! That means this book was more about the characters and how they become monsters. Because it is the first book, I know that the others will be more action packed and more drama involved. The only downside I have with it is that it kept jumping to different characters that weren't the main focus and I completely forgot about, but that is expected when you're being reintroduced to the world. The ending has left me on a high though as I can only compare it to the very last minute of The Force Awakens. I can actually feel adrenaline rushing through me after that. I love it.

Spoilers ahead.

I need a full book on Nate and Bronwyn's relationship. Now.

I loved all the main characters and their voices stood out to me. I did picture them as the actors from The Breakfast Club too, but that was expected.

Another great classic from Agatha Christie. I knew one of the murderers though. I'm getting better and better

Still as good as the first time round. This is technically my first reread of a story, I never really like rereading books if I know the story well but I actually forgot loads, so I was glad I could enjoy it again. I will continue rereading the series but slowly. I read all the books way too quickly when I first read them so I want to savour what I've forgotten.

It was utterly amazing! I love the author and his style of writing. He makes me want to read on and on.

This was a lovely story to read. I loved hearing from Atalanta's side of the Voyage of the Argo and I'm glad she didn't transform into a lion in the end like she actually does. Good thing myths aren't real and you don't have to always rely on them. Atalanta reminded me of Lila Bard too, I feel as though they would get along.

This book had me on a rollercoaster on whether I liked it or not. The writing was good throughout and I enjoyed being in the summer days of Thebes (minus the plagues) and the different narratives worked well together for telling the story of the cursed family. However, when it got to the killing of Laius, I was confused by the fact Oedipus didn't kill him. Also the fact he wasn't his father anyway as Laius didn't sleep with Jocasta to have him. I also felt the death of Polynices and Eteocles happened quicker than anticipated in Ismene's timeline as I thought they were at war for years (this is technically true if you count their years as children). Yet, I soon began to realise why Natalie made these changes as it would suit the story she was trying to put across. It didn't matter whether Oedipus was the son of Jocasta, it wasn't actually confirmed they were because they're love mattered more (I did like page 285 though, great dramatic irony there). I also liked the ending of Ismene's narrative where it was more happier than the play. Overall this book was a great retelling of a myth that has been retold a thousand times and it did feel fresh. However, there is one thing that was consistent from my reading of Sophocles' plays to Natalie's retelling. I still hate Antigone as a character, in fact, I hate her even more in this.

This is potentially one of the best books I read. I loved it so much. It was so deep and beautiful, I wish I could write like Ruth Ozeki. It took my a month to read because I've been doing loads of overtime and started another book too, but it was like what Ruth was doing in the story, she was pacing herself. I did want an ending where Ruth and Nao met, but you can't have everything. Maybe there will be another novel for Old Jiko's story. I think I'd like that.

DAMN THAT LAST SENTENCE THOUGH

I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS AND I WANT MORE. I CANNOT FUCKING WAIT FOR SHIP OF THE DEAD AS ITS GONNA BE A KILLER (hopefully not character killer anyway)

I also ship Alex and Magnus like please make that a thing. It would be really cool. Being friends is cool also. I just love everything.

I also want Magnus Chase as an anime. Yes please.

This was one hell of a great book.

I love the world of Magnus Chase and the diversity of the characters (more so than Percy Jackson eep) and this book was really good. It didn’t feel like an ultimate last book in a series, I think that’s because the threat of Ragnarok has been there since the beginning and will forever be there. I do hope we see more of Magnus and everyone else (especially Alex, my fave). Now I just need to catch up with Trials of Apollo...

Ahhhh I love the Avatar series so much. I haven’t tried Korra yet, but now I’ve read the in between series I should try to!
