Another great Poirot classic.

An extremely important essay to read.

This is such a beautiful book. Everyone that loves cats would enjoy this book as well as anyone with an interest in Japan. It’s a great story about love and what it’s like to have family.

This is aimed at kids and yet it is not "dumbed down". I really enjoyed the storyline and how Perfection isn't always perfect. It was really dark and opinionated about what is "perfect" to society and what isn't. The Archers were extremely cruel to do such things to their town, and what that did have planned in store! I thoroughly enjoyed this story and what message it gives to children. I would highly recommend it to anyone as you don't have to be 9-12 to read it!

They're better be a sequel to this I swear to god. This was beautiful. I loved it.

Note: I am currently still crying while writing this. (Also there are spoilers but I'm not hiding them because everyone should know what happens in the Trojan War).

This book was heartbreakingly beautiful. It's been awhile since I properly cried at a book. I loved Patroclus and Achilles' characterisation and how much they loved one another. The use of dramatic irony killed me every time, especially when Achilles said "What has Hector done to me?" (I hope you all know the story of The Iliad because you should) and I bloody loved Odysseus at the end talking to Pyrrhus and suggesting he might become more famous than him. This book was very good HOWEVER two things ruined it from getting a higher rating. Chapter 13 was not at all needed when Patroclus was so out of character and it wasn't even mentioned again. Absolutely pointless. Also I wish the arrow went through Achilles' heel like it's supposed to. I loved the ending though, even if it did make me cry a lot. I'm going to curl up in bed and continue crying, thinking of Achilles and Patroclus together in the underworld.

I haven't read a fantasy book in ages and it certainly felt like one, there's nothing quite like it. The slow pace at the beginning was great to explain the different world and helped me back into the fantasy realm that I didn't realise I had missed so much. Lila Bard became a favourite character of mine. Can't wait to read the next one!
