i learned a lot from this book and it was nice to see a sphere of people not usually represented in american media. it was nice to see all the characters in the different stories connecting but I didn’t feel attached to any of the characters because we didn’t have too much time with each of them. the prose is nice and really easy to read

i blew through this book i read it in less than a day. historical fiction is a genre i enjoy especially when marginalized characters are given a voice in them, because they often did not receive a voice in the mainstream.
