Grafiskt tilltalande kokbok, men recepten känns krångliga. Många olika ingredienser och ofta lite annorlunda. Inte vad jag orkar med just nu. Dessutom väldigt många recept som går ut på att göra ett veganskt alternativ som är så likt det köttiga originalet som möjligt. Not my style.

Quite some faux meat which I don't enjoy but I liked that there are recipes on how to make dairy substitutes yourself.
The pictures are beautiful and I would have liked a photos for every recipe

Maybe if I were vegan I'd give it more stars, but for me this was "just okay." Be warned they made little effort to translate the British to American ingredients. Some of them have the American equivalent in parentheses, but you probably already knew things like aubergine (eggplant). But what the heck is a "chestnut mushroom"? And why is "caster sugar" translated in one place as "granulated" and in another as "superfine" sugar? Those are not the same thing.
Photos were largely uninspired, although there were a couple shots of very impressive plating.

I could not use a few of the recipes due to the use of seitan, and I am not keen on tofu, so that cut out a few more, but I did find 7 that look very interesting. From sausages to mayo to croquettes. If will be fun to try them out.

I wanted to love this so much more than I did! I'm a huge fan of Gaz's Youtube show. Maybe seeing him in action makes the somewhat difficult and ingredient-laden recipes look much simpler to create, but reading this I didn't find a single thing I wanted to make :(

While these recipes are amazing and unique realistically I never take the time to make them as they require a little too much effort for my daily life style. The book is stunning and the pictures are perfection. It's a great one for the collection, but one that I never use.
