I love anything Diana Gabaldon writes. This is one of the best in the series.

Worth the wait
I became a fan of the Outlander books after the 8th one had already been published. I have reread them several times. This is the first one I had to wait for, and it doesn't disappoint. While Jamie and Claire are still the heart of the story, this book focuses a lot on other characters, particularly William, who has matured and is an absolutely wonderful character. There are a lot of unexpected plot twists, and a gigantic, in your face cliffhanger at the end. I hope it's not another seven years until we see the final book.

Not my favourite. It felt drawn out, and there was so much going on, but nothing that felt super important. It just didn't have the same momentum as the other books.
I wish the rest of the book was as exciting as the last 50 pages.
Tengo la teoría de que los libros impares, al menos desde La Cruz ardiente, preparan el escenario para los siguientes, que tienen mucha más acción. Y, justamente, eso creo que es este libro, lo cual lo hace tedioso de leer, sobre todo la primera mitad, eso explica que paso casi un año entre que leí la primera y segunda mitad, casi cómo si fueran dos libros. A veces pienso que Diana tiene malos editores, que publica rápido, pero, la verdad, creo que es un libro redondo, los cabos sueltos creo que se irán resolviendo en el 10, quedé con mucha sensación de final abierto, cómo en Ecos del pasado. Cosas que me encantaron: el proceso de maduración del poder de sanación de Claire, al final sentirla a ella y Jamie más viejos, William me está encantando, todo el rollo con la familia Grey, y Brianna y Roger, nunca entenderé el hate del fandom hacia ellos, a mi me gusta mucho su arco y que ahora los Fraser, los McKenzie y William tengan casi que 1/3 cada uno de la novela.
Otra cosa que me gusta mucho es la tensión de vivir la historia sabiendo los resultados, pero, ahora, guiados por un libro de Frank, que increíble que Frank siga tan presente. Bueno, el Sachem dice que lo ve aún junto a Claire. Será el Sachem de lo más interesante en personajes secundarios ?
Qué no me gustó: algunos otros personajes que se sienten cómo relleno, mucha descripción de ellos, aunque después la misma historia te cuenta su importancia, al comienzo todo es detalle y después el final muy rápido.
Y aún no sabe la explicación del fantasma de Jamie. Que, tal cómo Diana dijo, se sabrá al final.
Para terminar: creo que Diana escribe cada vez mejor, más poético, más estéticamente bello, le doy mérito a la traducción también, obviamente es en español de España, pero menos marcado que otros. Pienso que se da el tiempo y el lujo de escribir lindo y con mucha precisión histórica, en este libro incluso incluyó un pequeño epílogo con algunas explicaciones, aunque breve.
Si ya pasaste el 5 de Outlander (el más lento, a mi gusto), merece la pena terminar la saga.

As the American Revolution continues to shape what will become the America we know Claire, Jamie, and their extensive family continue to be part of it all. This book had births, deaths, marriages, and surprise reunions. Gabaldon is a true historical fiction master providing such vivid details that you feel you have visited America in the late 1700s each time you pick up her books. I hope we don't have to wait 10 years for the next installment. A must read for Outlander fans.
