I was sent this arc in exchange for a review - so thank you Lion Forge!

It’s honestly been awhile since a graphic novel has left me feeling this way. I’m eager, more than anything, for more story. Witchy ends in a place open to a second book, and I am very much looking forward to that.

But also, Witchy left me in that dreamy wistful state that a good book does. With its magic and nuance, you feel like you’re a part of the dialogue and story.

The world building in this book is delightful, and I was left with Ghibli meets low key Harry Potter vibes. Very, very good.

I finished reading this volume on the first night I got my hands on it, but I’ve been rereading it and just looking at the illustrations...only now I remembered to review this here. It’s excellent and I can’t wait for the second volume!!!

i really enjoyed this :( ive never really looked for indonesian (adjacent) rep but whew feels nice to feel seen. will definitely be continuing with the webcomic!!

This book was a tad confusing in places. There wasn't a whole lot of world-building, which made it difficult to understand certain elements of the book (like why hair was a big deal. I get that the longer your hair is the more powerful you are, but how does that even work). The main character is old enough for conscription, but acts like a child (I get why in a way, but she puts off the attitude of a ten-year-old throughout the whole book.)
The book as a whole was okay. The story jumped around a lot and it was difficult to understand at times. A little more text could have helped. It's also possible that we'll learn more in the next book.
The art though was stunning. I loved how bright the colors are.
Overall, it was an okay book. Not very long and a very fast read.

I’ve been reading this webcomic regularly since I found it, and I still completely love it. It’s the only webcomic I’ve ever stuck with and I have no regrets. Can’t wait to see where it goes from here!
