Cool art. Themes of fighting against forced conformity and fascism is easy to sympathize with, but the story peters out. Hopefully it can pick up steam in the next arc.

I love the concept of a society where the strength of your power (given by the spirits) is determined by the length of your hair. Nyneve made for an interesting main character - at times she frustrated me a little but given her backstory and age, it’s completely understandable. I see a lot of potential in her.
The world building was good and left a lot of ground to (un)cover in future volumes - I’m intrigued to know more about all the characters’ backstories and the history of this world.
The art was also fantastic and lent itself to the magical storytelling elements.
Definitely interested in reading more from this world.
Finally the music from Mulan was absolutely playing through my head during that one scene…

I was not too sure about it in the beginning. I struggled to get into it, but then I started to become very interested in where this story was going. The art style took me a bit to get used to. I want to learn more about the backgrounds of these characters and I’m definitely interested enough to see where this goes. I’ll be picking up the next one when it comes out. I think it’s going to become an incredible story.

I started reading this when it was just a webcomic, years ago. I stopped following most webcomics, though, and this one fell through the cracks. I’m pleased to see it’s been still going on, even more so to see it as a physical book!

very absorbing, a romp and so pretty, just a bit confused
This has been hanging out on my shelf for a while, just because it was so big! It also took me days to read it, which may have removed some of the general flow of the story. It wasn't bad, but I felt things dragged a little toward the end and the author didn't know where she was going to go with this series.
I liked how magic worked in this world, and look forward to discovering more about it.
