I think it is really wonderful how the author reflects back on Asa's past, it makes it easier to understand how behaviors and his and loans relationship.

Okay please ignore this one. I had limited options on me while babysitting and unfortunately was stuck with this guy.

Alright this is the worst Colleen Hoover book I’ve ever read. I could go into a thousand reasons why, but I don’t want to give this book any more of my time.

This was better than I thought it would be. I had almost given up on this author, but I'll stick around if she can build from here. Asa was a good villian. I enjoyed the storytelling from his POV. I just loved to hate him. The ending did not disappoint either. He definitely was tied in a cute little bow. Not bad

This was a much darker book than any of the Colleen books I've read before. At first, I couldnt get into it but as I got more into the story, I couldn't put it down. The story is very dark, thrilling and intense.

I felt so bad for Sloan. She deserved so much better and I hated Asa with a passion. Despite everything, Sloan was such a strong and caring character. Asa's character was written so well because even though he is fictional, I was scared of him too.

If you're in a reading slump or just need an intense thriller with a bit of romance, definitely pick this one up. An entertaining read that you will get sucked into.

“It’s too late to kill me, Asa. You Killed me a long time ago”

I started this book with some bias after reading that CoHo never originally intended to publish it. She mentioned that this was a story she never meant for anyone to read, almost as if she were apologizing in advance.

Because of that, I wasn’t particularly excited to dive into it and initially struggled to enjoy it. However, by the end, it truly touched my heart.

Asa was a deeply damaged child, highly intelligent yet desperate for love and care. He grew up in a home filled with violence, with a schizophrenic, addicted, and abusive father and a mother battling depression.
He never truly felt loved and endured countless traumatic experiences, including witnessing his father kills his mother.

“The world doesn’t owe us a thing. We take what we’re given and make the most of it.”

I would have rated it five stars, but several things were left unresolved, leaving me craving more closure:
Sloan: What happened to the recipe book, her career, and her brother?
The friends: What about Anthony, Kevin, and Jon? Were they never sent to prison?

Besides others…

I think it's safe to say by now that I pretty much LOVE any CoHo book. I love her writing so whenever she announces something new I get excited and read it as soon as possible. This is what happened with Too Late.

I'll do my best to keep it short... Sloan comes from a neglected childhood where she has to grow up too fast because her mom is too busy getting messed up. Unfortunately while attending university she is also the one that looks after her disabled brother who is living in an assisted living facility. Needless to say, that type of care costs money which she has very little of, so dating and living with Asa becomes.... financially convenient..... at an expense.

Asa (who I end up mentally referring to as asshat throughout my entire read) is known for his good looks, his money, and he's also the university's main drug supplier. He is also unfaithful, abusive, controlling, ill tempered...... you get the picture.

As the new semester starts, things become a little complicated when Sloan meets Carter in her Spanish class. His sense of humor is refreshing (given the sh*t she puts up with from Asa) and a little innocent flirting wouldn't hurt.....would it? But when she meets Carter again later at the house as one of Asa's new guys..... everything takes a turn.

If I had to pick one word to describe this read I would have to use, intense. I was on edge the entire read, which lasted 2 days because I could not put the book down. The alternating POV's per chapter makes this read super fast, which is always a plus for me. There's a lot of adult content so I would recommend this to a 17 + audience.

I originally read Too Late back in May of 2016 and had given it a 5 star rating because I really enjoyed this interestingly, new, darker side of Colleen. I liked that this story was completely different than all her other ones. I thought the writing was good and the book flowed well.

When I found out that the book was finally printed and that she had added more to the story, I immediately ordered myself a signed copy and decided to re-read the whole thing in order to have the story fresh in mind before diving into this new ending, and then it happened.

Sometimes you just shouldn't touch a good thing. Just leave it alone. Honestly, I felt the story could have ended at the first 'THE END'. The original epilogue wasn't really needed, but okay fine, if you want to throw another punch in there I get it. But to add an epilogue, to an epilogue, to another epilogue just wasn't necessary. If you were to tell me that there was some type of growth in the characters or in the story, but there's not. Sloan continues to be ....should we say passive to be nice? I wanted her to fight, grow some strength, slap the asshole across the face or something. And Asa???? How many lives does that guy have? The way he was able to just miraculously get out of certain situations had my eyes heavily rolling to the back of my head. Towards the end of my read I honestly wanted to just let out my frustrations by throwing my book against the wall, I was pissed.

They say a good book makes you feel all types of emotions, but I don't know, this new ending left me disappointed.
