I was really looking forward to this book and I enjoyed the first 60% or so, but after that the storylines started to feel very repetitive.

I was hoping this book would delve a little more into the magic. Which, it did, but only at the end.

In between all of that this is primarily a love story, which I am here for. What I am not that interested in is
Xander and Lia repeating the same story where they start to get intimate, but then pull away at the last minute. To be clear, it's fine if that's what happens, but to keep doing it for the same reasons over and over starts to get annoying. Lia basically knowing her feelings and refusing to acknowledge them hurts so many people, including herself.

The amount of anger, miscommunication, lack of communication, and just overall grumpiness in the love story for the first half of the book was irritating (given the cliffhanger from book 1 I expected this going into it). Eventually it gets better. The other plotlines of the book were great! The characters are lovable and I want good things for all of them. The short chapters and writing style make it to where I could hardly put it down for wanting to know what would happen next- I almost finished all 570 pages in a day. The end wasn't nearly as much of a cliffhanger as the first but it was satisfying. I desperately want to know how things resolve- but if it turns out that in book 3 Lia and Xander do the deed and it's a spiritual revelation and everything is made right I'm going to be mad, lol. I'm sure that it wont be that lazy given the plot thus far but you never know. Hopefully around this time next year I will have all my answers *fingers crossed*.

This is book 2 of The Eye of the Goddess Series, and I loved it so much! It’s almost 600 pages long and I devoured it in a couple of days.

The first book, A Tribute of Fire, finished with a serious cliffhanger ending, and I’ve been anxiously waiting for A Vow of Embers. It’s just as fabulous as I was hoping for, and I can’t stop thinking about it.

The action begins right out of the gate, and what an amazing ride. There’s danger, secrets, intrigue, and a sizzling romance with some intense chemistry and longing between the main characters.

The sparks between them were palpable, and they’re obviously perfect for each other, even if they might not admit it to themselves or each other. I loved seeing their vulnerability, and how their relationship gradually grew as they started to trust and rely on each other.

The story was gripping and compelling, the writing and pacing were excellent, and the character development was so well done. If you enjoy romantasy, I highly recommend this series!

You can expect—
🔥 Romantasy
🗡️ Strong heroine
🔥 Enemies to lovers
🗡️ Sisterhood
🔥 Found family
🗡️ Plot twists
🔥 Greek mythology
🗡️ Losing sleep because you can’t put it down
🔥 Some violence & steam
🗡️ Cliffhanger ending

This is not a standalone, so make sure you read A Tribute of Fire beforehand.

I'm always a bit weary of Bob 2 in a trilogy but this one felt so exciting to me and I think I may have devoured it even faster than book 1.

This picks up immediately after book 1 and the passion and angst are so thick in the air, no one can escape the way Lia and Prince Xander feel about each other. I think they are definitely both stubborn when it comes to admitting things. The banter is just delicious.

I love that Lia's sisters from the temple get to attend to her in the palace. I love how two of them become close to two of Xander's guards. But it's also bittersweet because of the vows they have pledged themselves to.

I feel that in the next book, Lia and her sisters are going to be figuring out some hard truths to their pledges that may not have been totally for their protection.  The ending has some shocks that are going to be utterly hard to forget.
