This is a 4.5 for me. Now it has been like a year since I have read the first book, and I loved the first book so it was getting time around to start this second book, and I will say I ate this book up. Usually around the summer months I like reading quick easy read, and this did it for me. I mean these books you want to keep reading, and you want to. I get to the third book soon after this might as well finish off the series

Damien Stark I love... Pageant girl Nikki, not so much. There's something about her I couldn't put my finger on that just made me yawn over her.

Maybe it's because the plot line has been done and I've read umpteen other books like this series, I'm not sure... But some parts of this book had me going, "honestly!?".

I'm not saying it's not a steamy read or a bad read. It certainly kept me entertained (and I'm sure I'm being of very little help on this review), but as much as I enjoyed it, I did do a fair amount of eye-rolling as well. I am anxious to get to book three and see how their story ends.

The problem is I really didnt and did see that weirdness coming. and that whole death thing isnt a turn on it's more of a mess. It takes away from their relationship which is more of a story than his feeling awful about himself about supposedly maybe offing his awful tennis coach.

overall that ending just not feeling it. Love what she did to get back in but didn't like what was going on in the story itself. it's reliable tho just not memorable

Second book in the journey of Damien and Nikki. Continuation of their struggle with their past and trying best to keep each other.

It starts right where it ended in Release me. Nikki's portrait is about to complete and ready to display. Of course, identity of Nikki as the model in the portrait is a secret. Dating the billionaire Damien means lots of media attention. Paparazzi keeps haunting them with their questions. Each question reveals a secret which Damien and Nikki have tried to keep hidden. With such attention and pressure Nikki's craving for pain, to feel grounded and normal, came back. Damien blames himself for all this and he is pretty much determined to leave Nikki if thats what take it to make it all right.

Nikki was good in this. She now trust Damien though he has his secrets but she did not push him to share. She wants him to share his secrets whenever he is ready. Whenever she thinks that she has won against the demons of her past something happens that push her to edge again and all the craving for pain come back.

Damien is awesome in this book. He keeps his secret from Nikki as he wants her safe. His fear that she'd leave him once she know what his dirty little secret makes him unable to open up with her. He blames himself for all the media attention on her which constantly push her toward the edge. He is edgy at the issue of her. More and more dirty things from his past is surfacing now making it difficult for him to keep them a secret. But in the end he does share his secrets with her.

Their love for each other is their passion, obsession and desperation. Every single fight bring them more closer to each other. Helps them understand each other better. He wants her safe and free of all the frenzy that surrounds him.

What I didn't liked the story is too slow in the middle. It just keeps dragging.Damien does open up but he takes the whole book to do so. But it still is better than its predecessor and NO it didn't remind me of other two big billionaire who finds themselves in same circumstances (Christian and Gideon).

Two broken personalities trying to cure when they can so easily destroy each other.

Didn't love this. No storyline which was rather boring.

This book isn’t bad but the beginning third of the novel is just Damien and Nikki boning. Over the code of one very, very long night. It’s unrealistic and gets boring very quickly.

Luckily, they leave the bedroom (and the pool) eventually and some plot happens. I’m feeling more of a Gideon Cross vibe than a Christian Grey one in this installment, so we’ll see what happens next!
