I have a mixed bag of feelings about this book. I loved the characters and I loved the representation of queer and neurodivergent teens. I did read almost all of it in one day and I found myself wanting to pick it back up whenever I had to put it down. But then I also skipped several passages as the book went on. I can't quite pinpoint what exactly bothered me about it, but it might as well just have been the writing style (although there is some very nice prose in that book, so idk..) or the over-all execution. I called a lot of the story beats ahead of time, which felt somewhat underwhelming and the protagonist’s inner monologues started to feel quite repetitive after a while. also: I just wish we had gotten a bit more of that rage the book was hinting at in the end.
I do believe it is important that this book exist and I fully see how it can mean a lot to people, it just did not do a ton for me. I will definitely try other books by this author however.

I really liked this and Theo was my favourite character so maybe controversial
I especially liked that it wasn’t anti-religion at all, I was so worried it was gonna portray religious ppl as inherently bad so I loved seeing the religious ppl in the ALC
I am seeing criticism on this like “it’s too gory” like… it’s a horror. It’s very good body horror although I couldn’t quite understand what Seraph and the Graces are supposed to look like because the descriptions are a bit not put together. It doesn’t take away from the book though.
