i like the concept and the vision. but the plot and the characters did not convince me.
the pacing where benji is spending time with the other teens was way too slow for my taste and i didn't understand the final fight between the monsters. i wish we would've spent more time within the cult, it would've been much more interesting than seeing benji spending time with his thoughts alone. the love story wasn't convincing as well, i didn't believe it.
nevertheless i enjoyed the read and i had lots of fun with the cult and the worldbuilding.
