Poirot and supervillains is a no from me. Starts off well with some smaller mysteries (leading to the Big 4) but then heads into ridiculousness.

I am making my way through all of the Poirot series, in order, and this is my least favorite book so far. The plot and mystery to be solved was too big for its own good, reveals too obvious, and there was no satisfying conclusion. I much prefer the smaller stakes mysteries of a jewel theft or confusing country murder.
⭐️⭐️⭐️: definitely not my favorite AC but her classic style with constant surprises is always fun! I found this one a bit more dry and less suspenseful than many of her others but still worth the read

My least favorite so far of the Poirot mysteries, and I found the ending unsatisfactory.

This was not my favorite Poirot adventure. Sadly it felt a bit too large-scale for what it was trying to do. In better words, this felt like Mission Impossible, when typically, I’d expect a cozy who-dun-it.
Potentially a 1-star, honestly. This is Hercule Poirot as James Bond, with basically no mystery/detective aspect at all. It's barely a coherent story and has some laughable twists. Not sure why I picked this one up, as it seems to be universally regarded as one of her worst.

This is the worst Hercule Poirot I have ever read. I understand that the supervillain plot was probably somewhat new back then, but basically picture instead of one Moriarty, four of them, and you get the idea. That becomes the trellis across which Agatha Christie strings a lot of improbable but related stories, as Poirot tracks down the villains and their death weapon.
It also has a lot more racism than most of the other Poirots, which is saying quite a lot.
