Really in depth review of how to human bodys mind maps, proprioception, and sensation and perception can affect us in ways we generally overlook. Almost all of this was review for me, but I appreciated how scientific and well explained it was! Sandra Blakeslee walks you through the more complicated subjects with clear and cogent explanations. This is a book i want to give all of my personal training clients so they understand how practice, visualization, and building a neuromuscular foundation, all go hand in hand with progress!

This book took forever to finish because it was in ebook form, which I'm often terrible at remembering. It was fascinating and sparked all kinds of curiosities and ideas for me.

Quite a bit was simplified from a neuroscience perspective, for a lay audience. This makes sense, but I would have enjoyed the full science info!!

One VERY outdated/stereotypical section on autism, yikes. The "no empathy" and "they don't play" kind. Um, we play, we just play differently ;)

This book was interesting but also hard to keep attention on...
I was intrigued by the notion of embodied knowledge (that all knowledge is embodied and that therefore AI cannot be successful because it is not embodied), but they didn't develop this idea further or give specific examples.
As someone who is "geographically challenged," I was interested in the research on place cells and grid cells (and that it makes sense that I have problems playing sports).
Again, I felt the lack of more personal stories from the writers, more... integrated interpretations of the implications of this research.  Instead a lot of it was flat.
However, the information itself is interesting and in some cases potentially life changing.  I wish they'd found a way to make it sparkle a bit more.
