Would definitely recommend to someone who was new to the topic of sex education and womens health. It does some great myth busting and gives scientific explanations to sexual behaviour. I found the way the personal stories were geared purely towards people in a relationship so found it hard to resonate as a single person. Would’ve been nice to have a bit more about casual sex in there but still a very interesting read.

I really enjoyed this. The book is specifically targeted at cisgender women who want to be sexually active with a partner, and the author is very clear about that in the introduction. I think that's important to keep in mind because the book intentionally is not talking much about men's sexuality, trans sexuality, or being asexual. The tone is approachable/casual; this is a pop science book, not university press research. It talks a lot about how mental state and emotions influence sex and multiple times each chapter I would text a friend ranting about how rude it was being, by which I meant "this is exactly what I have personally been experiencing and I feel extremely seen and angry about it." In that sense, it was the perfect book for me at this time in my life.

Pretty good. It’s one of those books where I’d say everyone should read this, but also some people will probably get a lot more out of it than others. Two themes that are brought up a few times are confidence and joy, and for people who struggle with those things, this book will probably be the most beneficial. I didn’t get too much from it (hit me with even more science!! i love studies!!!!) but I liked the approach and the audiobook was great.

I am so enamored with this book. I think this is something every single person should read if you have a woman in your life. Period. I wasn't even halfway through when I started to recommend it to the people around me. I see reviews that say "this isn't science." But the majority of humans are not scientist, therefore we need a book that puts everything on the table for us to understand in plain terms. Thank you for this and no thank you to the patriarchy!
