A fun insight into Ahsoka’s journey! The book does heavily rely on the hopes that the reader has seen the animated show. But I have, so I enjoyed it!
This was actually a good book that I enjoyed.
Fairly typical of Star Wars books, it leaned on other already released tv shows and books for backgroud.

I have to admit, I found the book to be really slow overall. It does pick up eventually, but I just wish there was more action throughout. I really tried to love this book because I love Ahsoka as a character. I was excited to dive deeper into her personality and see how the end of the Clone Wars affected her, but the pacing made it tough to stay engaged.
The first half felt like a lot of buildup with little payoff—Ahsoka moves from one planet to another, finds a job, and not much else happens. When the Empire finally invades, things start to get more interesting, but even then, some plot points felt underdeveloped and almost pointless.
It wasn't until the last 150 pages that the story really grabbed my attention. Looking for lightsabers battles? They barely make an appearance until the very end, which was a bit disappointing.
Overall, while I appreciated the deeper look into Ahsoka's character, I just wish the book had more of the action and adventure that I love about Star Wars.

Ahsoka stays being one of the best Star Wars characters to exist. Argue with SEVERAL walls if you disagree. Also, we love a bisexual queen.
Overall, was a slow build but still kept me captivated. Definitely for young readers. I enjoyed the handful of flashback / flash forward chapters— these were the parts that sufficiently scratched my Star Wars itch.
Thought this was a solid novel for bridging the CloneWars-to-rebels Ahsoka gap. I’m glad I finally got around to reading it.

This audiobook is a testament to Ashley Eckstein’s talent. What would have been a run-of-the-mill sci-fi adventure on the page came to life with Eckstein’s voice. I read a couple of pages of the physical book and then started the audiobook afterwards. What read as bland prose came to life with emotion as Eckstein not only embodies Ahsoka Tano, but the story itself. Would re-listen in a heartbeat!

An extra point for the best part of the novel: spoiler> Ahsoka's reunion with Artoo. I guess the slow buildup on Raada is important to show how lost Ahsoka feels in the aftermath of order 66, but the best part is actually seeing her become a rebel. Unfortunately that only occurs in like the last third of the book 😭
