Я не столько прочитал, сколько перечитал, но всё с таким же хорошим впечатлением. Нет, с "Лолитой", как некоторые сравнивают - это некорректное сравнение, но книга сама по себе великолепна. Хотя бы из-за пары своеобразных монологов и игры в слова. Не игры слов, а именно так, как я сказал.

Un romanzo particolarissimo, sia come linguaggio che come svolgimento del racconto, con dialoghi ed episodi che si ripetono proprio come se i personaggi di quei minieventi fossero presi nella loro routine, al limite dell'assurdo e della parodia. Si alternano stili e toni diversi, e i personaggi sembrano in continuo, frenetico movimento, impegnati in dialoghi più o meno sensati e spesso interrotti dai commenti pungenti di Zazie, l'estranea del gruppo intorno cui è incentrato il minimo di trama del romanzo. È col suo arrivo dallo zio infatti che prende il via il racconto. Divertente e originale di per sé, il romanzo acquista tutt'altra rilevanza e nuova luce dopo la lettura del l'interessantissimo saggio di Roland Barthes inserito in coda in questa edizione.

I’m not sure how this ended up on my to-read list - probably from a list of extra reading from a uni subject years ago, or something like that. On finally getting around to reading it, I found it a bit hard to get on with. It’s obviously clever and witty, and the translation is extraordinarily impressive, but for the most part I found it alienating in a way that reminded me more of A Confederacy of Dunces (which I thoroughly disliked) than anything else.
On the other hand, I found the second half more entertaining than the first, so maybe it just took me a while to get on a wavelength closer to the right one.

2 cosas simples para resumir mi experiencia lectora sobre este libro.
1) Ha sido un gustazo leer una obra de Queneau. La locura, el desorden y el caos en esta novelita son geniales, pero...
2) Tendría una estrella de más si no fuera porque el lenguaje fresco de la época, que seguro que lo tiene, está pobremente reflejado en una traducción más que nefasta, con expresiones coloquiales pasadas de época y otras que ya no se entienden, además de unas notas al pie pedantes tipo "mira cuánto francés sé, qué listo que soy, y lo traduzco a mi manera". Las cosas no se hacen así, señor Sánchez Dragó.
Al menos las ilustraciones son de Miguel Gallardo...
(Próximamente, en verano, veré la película.)
