This was a very hard subject to read about. But the book was good.

Het is een heel goed geschreven thriller. Als ik niet zo'n gloeiende bloedhekel had gehad aan het onderwerp, had ik het boek vijf sterren gegeven.

This could possibly be THE MOST gruesome, disturbing book I have ever read. It should come with a plethora of trigger warnings. Nevertheless, Karen Slaughter’s writing is immersive, her pacing is impeccable and the crime is abhorrent. What more do you want?

This was sick and twisted and parts made me physically ill. It was incredible. I love a book that makes me actually feel things.

Another mystery that moves right along. I enjoy the Grant County series, almost as much as the Will Trent one. In this story, we find Lena struggling to regain her career after she had been brutally captured (previous book) and Jeffrey is placed in a unimaginable position at the very beginning of the book. Together they unravel what prompted a young girl to hold a former friend at gunpoint, but the answers were horribly dark. Horrors are exposed that no child should have to endure.
Don't read this if you are troubled to read about violence against children.

A novel from the Sara Linton series, that is just as shocking and disturbing as Ms. Slaughter's Will Trent series. Sara Linton and ex-husband Jeffrey Tolliver are thrown into another heinous crime as they are trying to work out their personal life. She is drawn into a murderous plot that touches and challenges the core of her own being. The story line is full of unspeakable crimes: child pornography, incest and kidnapping. At many points it was so disturbing I wanted to walk away, but I could not.

I read the first part of this series last year, and I was looking forward to reading more of Karin Slaughter (that reminds me I still have Pretty Girls in my bookshelf).

Kisscut is completely a different level from the fisrt book. I thought that storyline was disturbing but in this one, Slaughter presents some topics that may be unsettling for some people.

What I liked about this book, is that we understand more and more about Sara, Jeffrey and Lena. We learn these are complex relationships and that, as the main storyline happens in parallel, lives are greatly affected by past events.

Without going into much detail, the plot unravels a child pornography business and kidnapping. This was somehow upsetting but I was able to go through the end. It's becomes amazing how certain characters justify this behaviour and are willing to push the limits to get what they want.

I enjoyed the pace, also the chapters devoted to only 1 or 2 characters, and of course the thrill to find the responsibles behind this atrocity. At certain points I had to stop reading it, and take a break from it.

Overall, it was a great ride of emotions and I can't wait to read part 3.
