It's been years since I have read Samantha Young's books ! I'm not sure why because I loved the two books I read (Samathan Young has a real talent for writing stories in Scotland <3)
Then I saw that this book was free on Amazon and since my trip to Scotland is postponed until next year and that I need to travel even if only in my head ... ><

A book that I devoured :
- the beginning is a little slow and at the start I must admit the heroin irritated me: I had the impression that it was a bit like a princess who throws a tantrum ...
- But the more we advance in the book (and especially after the aggression in the cemetery) the more we discover about the heroine (especially her past and the reasons for which she left everything) and the more I was drawn by the book <3
- I cried a lot I must admit but this is exactly what I needed at the moment: a lot of angst and drama !! I was heartbroken for the heroine and for everything she lived and suffered:
Spoilerthe death of her mother (such a mess and such guilt ...), the attitude of her stepfather (that I would have killed a second time !!), her entourage who did nothing (in my opinion her manager was a zero !! How can you not realize that your star suffered a serious depression ?? How can you do nothing to protect her ??), her toxic relationships (her "best friend" who in fact is responsible for having destroyed her life ! And who doesn't understand it ... This stupid meeting at the apartment and when he " kiss her"!! I would have killed him !!) ...

- I loved seeing her evolve, change and become aware of her strength ... And also seeing her fall in love with Killian (even if I wanted to slap him sometimes ><)
- And this ending <3 (very Begin Again) (and this scene with uncle =D)
- I would have loved to have a soundtrack for this book !!

In short, a romance to devour without restraint <3

I LOVED this. Loved how the characters developed over the pages and how the relationships evolved. Although i think Skylar's ex is a bit of childish idiot. All the anxieties made me click with her instantly and all i wished was for her to get her HEA

Was given the book for free in exchange for an honest review

I loved this book!
Samantha Young never fails to break my heart and leave me smiling at the same time! Without a doubt her writing has gone from strength to strength.
Skylar was a fantastic heroine, someone I genuinely wanted to root for and Killian was her perfect counter , broody and problematic but with a lot of heart.
She blew me away with her song writing and I can’t wait for Autumns story.

My only negative would be that I miss Edinburgh, please take us back

4/5*
The novel tells a story about Skylar - a former rockstar, who escaped from an unhappy life and a terrible tragedy that took place in her family. Skylar always dreamt about having a band, singing and achieving a huge success in music industry. But when she gets what she always wanted, she realizes that she's not happy. But she keeps going, not to disappoint her mother, who sacrificed a lot for her, and her bandmates. Her mother's murder was 'the last straw that broke the camel's back'. Skylar leaves the band and goes to Europe and later, despite having millions of dollars on her account, she becomes a homeless street musican. Everything changes when she's discovered by Killian O'Dea - a music producer, who promises to help her in exchange for her songs and voice.

The first half of the book was an easy five star read. At that point I loved Skylar and Killian's relationship - their constant bickering and sarcastic dialogues.
Spoiler But when they got together, there were too many erotic scenes that made their relationship seems a little shallow. Their dialogues became less interesting and funny and more focused on their attraction to each other - which I didn't like

It was an extremely quick read for me. Samantha Young has a gift - she is writing her books in such nice and pretty language that makes it effortless to dive into the novel and forget about everything else.

What a beautiful story. This story is a story of redemption, self worth, joy, love, and fear. This seems like too simple of terms to put to this book. The feels were all over the place, and I will for sure still be thinking of this book LONG after I have finished it. The connection and love that Killian and Skylar share is something to take notice of, it's beautiful, and poignant. Samantha Young weaves a tale that is not simple put into one box, but many. This is told in Skylar's pov.

As dust dances

I enjoyed reading As dust dances. I liked that I could feel Skylar’s emotions and understood how hard she was fighting for her peace and happiness. I didn’t like that the story was told only from Skylar’s point of view. I wanted to hear from Killian. It was a good book.
