This has been one of my fav series for awhile

The ending? Perfection. The love? Perfection. Soo good.

This book dragged a little for me. It felt too similar to book 1 and 2. But the second half picked up and it had a spectacular ending with some beautiful, lyrical language.

Overall, this series was a solid 4 stars. It fits solidly in the YA Fantasy section. But it just didn’t “wow” me. I realllly needed more romance (there was maybe 1-2 romance-building scenes with only the two main characters in each book). And I struggled with the pacing. But I’ll definitely read more from Hamilton in the future because she is a great writer.

Beautiful ending, a whole lot of action, a whole lot of emotion. A great ending. I specially likes the use of legends and stories also how one becomes stuff of the legend.

i love this story to pieces and this was the best ending i could’ve asked for. i’ll miss amani deeply.

The end of another series. And this was a good one! I can't stand it when authors get to the final book in a series and then throw all the rules out the window. Thankfully, Alwyn Hamilton did an excellent job closing out the Rebel of the Sands series. The story picked up right after the events of Traitor to the Throne. The main character, Amani, finds herself in charge of the rebellion since its top leaders are currently imprisoned. She makes several mistakes and some very tough choices, but ultimately gets the rebellion where it needs to be.

The plot was fast paced and it was very easy to read several chapters quickly. There was so much action, magic, and djinni! I will say that the final battle may be a bit disappointing to some people. There really wasn't a lot to it, but it was still captivating. I actually like that the battle was over with quickly, because I tend to get really bored when they are long and drawn out.

I highly recommend this series and am looking forward to Alwyn Hamilton's next project.

A smashing end to the Rebel of Sands series.

Looking back at my past reviews of the series I feel that this book was my favourite, the stakes seemed higher, the enemies more powerful and the love more intense between Amani and Jin.

Similar to the first two novels it did take me a little while to sink back in to the desert sands. However, there was little time to be impatient as the story moved quickly as there was a lot on Amani's to do list.

What a particularly liked about the final installment was the inclusion of Zaahir, a rouge Djinni. Who, like an unwanted genie, kept throwing gifts Amani's way. It made the stakes higher and the mountainous task that had to be completed even harder to climb.

As an admirer of language, I feel that the author used it beautifully as the story flowed along. It made it so much easier to slip back in to the story and immerse myself in the fantasy world of Amhed's wedding.

The ending and epilogue was also highly satisfying and tied everything together. I sense that a throw off series could potentially occur.
