I read the funny parts and skimmed the recipes. Laughed out loud a couple of time, flinched at a couple of jokes that haven’t aged well. Overall, a fairly fun experience.
I expected the delightful comedy but somehow failed to realize I would also be getting genuinely sound entertaining advice. I recommend the audio (except hearing the occasional recipe is a touch tiresome)
I don’t like cooking so I was looking for a cookbook that was about more than recipes. I found it in I Like You. Not only was there a lot to learn about throwing parties, Amy Sedaris made me laugh while doing it. I enjoyed the way she describes different parties and what she did. I don’t know how much of this I will use, but as Amy Sedaris wrote at least you can learn to be a better guest.

So, this book was a surprise for me, in more ways than one. First of all, I have to say that Amy is NOT as good a narrator of her own stories as her brother David - she SOUNDS like she's reading out of a book, often not even doing as good a job as my father did for my bedtime stories..
BUT, she does do funny voices, and the sound effects and music chosen liven up the occasionally uninspired chapters.
There were certainly laugh-out-loud instances, and since she's from Raleigh, her 'southern accented' redneck recipes and hints were close to home!
Worth a light read, but maybe not buying...and although I haven't seen the printed version, I think that the audiobook might be a better way to go as well.

A very fun way to spend a rainy afternoon. I flipped through it, loving the weirdity.
This book was rather hit-and-miss for me. Some of Sedaris's humor was spot-on for me - and the rest of it was either boring or vaguely offensive. However, I have used some of her recipes, and the book is certainly worth it for that. I especially enjoyed one vanilla cupcake recipe - light, tasty, and actually rather sugar-cookie-y.
anything by any sedaris gets 5 stars in my book.
Fun to flip through, but couldn't concentrate on it. The pictures are frightening and funny.
