I’m torn on this book, I absolutely loved the dynamic between the two, especially the way she dominated many aspects of his life in and outside of the bedroom. That said I felt like there was just sooooooo much extra writing about the characters and their backgrounds. Maybe I’m just too interested in the bedroom scenes but it felt like I was just reading paragraph after paragraph of stuff I frankly did not need to know about the characters. I also felt that while the bedroom or should I say office scenes were good they felt less and less detailed as the book went on rather than longer and more intricate. I almost felt let down when introduced to them 3/4 done, like I wanted the whole thing not just the orgasms? Overall I have to rate this book highly though simply for the fact that I feel it was one of the few good female dominant stories I have read.

Its smut... with a side of social politics?
I really enjoyed this one. I'm on the lookout always for a good femdom romance book. I have read several, and DNF'd them because the h is always so... unrealistic. I hate the overly-dominate, mean, almost campy femdoms in other books I've read. I actually liked how Kate is very relatable. She's dominant but still feminine. She commands everyone's attention, but not in an insufferable way. She felt very "real." I liked how Mikhail was deliciously submissive, but he was still his own person. And... the plot actually made me think! This book isn't just mindless smut. Of course, there are plenty of spicy scenes. But there's also some serious dialogue about wealth disparity, substance abuse, and the impacts of growing up in extreme poverty. I just couldn't put this book down! I read the whole thing in a day. Will definitely be on the lookout for more books like this one.
The only thing that made me raise a few eyebrows was Mikhail's wishes to not have a safe word. He's supposed to be an experienced sub, how can he be upset about having a safe word? That's like BDSM 101. I'm glad that Kate made him use them, but that was the only times I was seriously disappointed in this book.
In all, I really wish we had more Kate and Mikhail. I found myself really rooting for them in the end.
TLDR: I would recommend this book to people who are interested in sub/dom dynamics, people looking for a good femdom romance, and people looking for smut WITH plot.

My only grievance is that I wanted to see her friends’ reactions when they found out about them.😔 I’m a sucker for a good reveal trope.

Wasn't expecting a romance bordering on erotica to be my first 5 star of the year but here we are.
I loved the way the fem domme relationship was portrayed and how the characters were able to admit their own faults (looking at you, third act tension). I'm sure someone more versed in the BDSM culture might find flaws but since consent, boundaries, safe words, and safety were accounted for, I can't complain (looking at you, 50 shades).
Literally the only thing I didn't get in this story was why Mikhail was in logistics at the beginning of the book to start out with. Why was he at Kate's desk with her department head to begin with? Guess I'll never know. I can overlook that for all the ways Kate pushed back against the system with the commentary about women being asked to work jobs that don't actually come with more pay even though they are additional requirements for the job description and asking about women in management at development trainings. That was just great.
