second read through of this book. plot is pretty predictable (i read it like five years ago and forget everything after a month so i truly had no recollection of reading it). the growth of natalie was nice to see, but most of the characters were very mundane. i like how the different povs wove together

3.75 stars, perhaps. A bit predictable but nevertheless a solid read.

Pretty much in line with Michael Palmer's other books - pretty basic medical mystery/thriller with a not-entirely-unexpected twist at the end. A good, fairly quick summer read.

I really enjoyed this book - I like the medical thriller genre a lot, though some parts of this one reminded me of Germ by Robert Liparulo (only some parts - the plots were very different). I liked how it jumped between seemingly unrelated characters. And it's one that makes you think a LOT about organ donation and trafficking.

I'm a an organ donor and have been for many years. This book really hit home for me about what could happen when there are not enough people who donate their organs and a group forms where they decide who is worthy. It opens one eyes to how people on all sides of the issue feel about donating, illegal harvesting and recepient.

Anyone who hasn't considered being an organ donor should after reading this book. While the current donor system probably isn't perfect (what is after all), at least it is a lot more fair.

This book took me sometime to get into, but once it got going I had a hard time putting it down. Very interesting book to read. I would most definitely recommend it to anyone interested in the more medicl side of things :)

While working at AABB (the American Assn of Blood Banks), this book got passed around due to its subject matter. I saw it at B&N on clearance and figured I'd check it out.

I don't usually do the thriller/mystery kind of stuff, so I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy it. It was a little slow to get going as the 3 main plot lines all operate independently, but towards the end of the book as loose ends start matching up, I started to get more into it.

As usual with these sorts of books, the author feels some weird need to play matchmaker and throw 2 characters together for no apparent reason. But the book was mediocrely enjoyable enough, and the end was quick enough, that it didn't drive me crazy or ruin anything.

Not sure I'd give it a resounding recommendation, but it wasn't a bad read. I'm sure if you're interested in transfusion medicine, organ transplants, or a a fan of the genre, you'd probably enjoy this more than I.

This was a neat medical thriller. The virtual reality twist was a bit of a reach to me but overall it was an entertaining read.
