This is a twisty, edge of your seat kind of book. I was really hooked into the story and didn’t trust anyone.
The characters were developed well and I felt like they all had a personality, making me more invested in the plot.
I think the escape and recapture / idea and mistake went on a little for me. It happened a lot and I think it would have been more impactful if it had happened a little less.
This book has some graphic scenes which I think were really well written. It also made me think what would I do. I will be thinking about this one for a while.
What a fast-paced ride this is. If you are looking for a grisly locked room-ish thriller, this is the one for you. Darby is a college student just trying to get home to her sick mother when she accidentally stumbles upon a kidnapper at a rest stop during a blizzard. She doesn’t know who she can trust out of the four people who are stranded with her.
One of the main themes of this story is survival. Darby faces many challenges trying to figure out how to help the kidnapped child and keep herself safe. The action scenes are so well written in this story. I had an easy time picturing them. I could also feel the anxiety and the fear of the characters.
I’ll be honest, a few of the twists were predictable, but it is such a fun read I didn’t care. The ending was awesome, and the final twist was shocking. This is the perfect read for a snowy winter night.

Holy moly that was a bit gory and suspenseful and all the feels. Kidnapping and murder. Well written and intense. Not for the faint of heart!
V interesting and engaging, had me hooked and finished it quite quickly - found myself wanting to read it when I wasn't and I really wanted to find out what happened next. Simple but loved it and it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. Another one that would make such a great film too!

Around the middle of the book, it lost me for a short time. Things were stuck in place spin in and hoping for traction. Sounds like a car in a blizzard, doesn't it?
The beginning is a great setup, and the ending is incredibly satisfying, for me, at least. I had a great time reading this and couldn't stop.
