If ever there was a case for unreliable narrators, Anna Cicconi is it. With the plot moving between Now and Then, interspersed with memories that may or may not have actually happened, readers aren't sure where Anna's innocence or guilt lies. I've found that podcast investigative journalism is one of my favorite mystery corners to comfortably curl up in, and I Killed Zoe Spanos fits in well. I could almost imagine myself in Anna's shoes on more than one occasion, and I sped through this in a few hours. Definitely recommended for anyone wanting a quick but thoughtful thriller.

i thoroughly enjoyed this book. a LOT happened to the point where i was getting worried that there would be some loose ends when i finished but kit frick did an amazing job by seamlessly covering every detail of the story. everything fit together at the end and it was almost satisfying when i finished because i was like wow. that makes total sense. i liked how we got to read it in the form of a podcast transcript at times, it made it really fun to read and an enjoyable way to gather new information. i could see why some might not like it since it wasn’t completely life changing but no complaints here! amazing book in my eyes.

What the hell happened to Zoe Spanos? And why does Anna look almost exactly like a girl she's never met? Are they the same person? Is Anna having a psychotic break? There were just some of the questions I had going on in my head while reading this gem of a book.

When Anna Cicconi gets a summer job as a nanny for a rich family, she figures she's finally going to get her life together and save money for college. See, Anna's life before this summer was a blur of alcohol, hook ups and drugs. But when she arrives in Herron Mills, weird things start to happen. Like a sense of deja vu even though Anna's never been there before. And then there's the fact that she looks almost exactly like a girl who went missing 6 months prior. What's even more confusing is Anna ends up confessing to the murder of this girl.

Told between future and present, 1st person and 3rd, I Killed Zoe Spanos was one hell of a ride that kept me intrigued throughout the entire book and I just did not want to put it down. Props to Kit Frick for being able to keep the tension and suspicion present as the story went along. I loved the weaving in of the podcast transcripts. It really made me feel like I was there with Anna as she tried to solve the mystery of Zoe. I had so many theories going into the finale of the book, one actually ended up being partially right.

A mind trip that I thoroughly enjoyed. Recommend for mystery lovers as this is sure to keep you up into the night.

4.5 stars, rounded up. This book sucked me in immediately and I finished it in less than a day. It reminded me of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, but I think I liked this one even more. It was so fun and twisty! I did eventually figure out one of the twists, but another was definitely a surprise. Perfect summer read for me.

4.5 stars but rounding up since this was very enjoyable to read. Well-put-together mystery that unraveled at just the right pace.
