Not the best follow-up to the first, but still compared to other shojo romance series, it holds its own. I'm already working on the 3rd volume, and the author definitely gets back in the groove of the tone and dynamic of the first volume. Hopefully this one is just a bump in the road...

Hilarious addition to the first volume.

The story is so funny I have to stop reading the book so I can catch my breath from laughing. I'm in denial about the characters' ages (26 and 16) because it would be suited if he was 21 and she was 18-19. Anyways, fans of the first volume will love this one! Plenty of character development, humor, and well drawn scenes.

This is a pretty good second volume, though I have to admit the humor wasn't as good as the first volume. Rather than witnessing Hana's biting sarcasm and deadpan snark, most of her humor comes from short inner monologues and yelling at Takane. Granted there are some legitimately funny moments in the volume, I miss Hana's trademark snark and quick wit. Also, there is some hypocrisy that I can't ignore. Later on in the manga, Hana gets mad at Takane and Nicola because they aren't being honest with each other and trying to fix their friendship. While I agree with Hana in this instance, early on in the manga she LIES to Takane about why she doesn't want to spend time with him because she doesn't want to lose her pride. I understand that Hana is a teenager and isn't the most self-aware person, but that really rubbed me the wrong way. I have to say, Takane's persistence and drive to make Hana happy more than made up for this and him openly admitting that he's willing to face the consequences of their relationship made my heart swell. I really do like their relationship and think they have good chemistry, but I hope the comedy doesn't suffer anymore as the series continues. Even if it does, as long as their relationship continues to grow, I think I'll be okay.

Hana has to try to fit in at a party at Takane's company and things don't go exactly as planned as she tries to keep pretending to be her older sister.

The age gap still bothered me a bit but I adored the banter it’s so hilarious between them!
