This is a crossover story of two of my favourite series, and so, it's fair to say, I had high expectations which this story more than met in fact Ms Dover knocked it out of the park. As Dangerous Game had everything, including underground fighting, mafia wars, suspense, shocks, intrigue and thrills. Which made it exceedingly difficult to put down, and with plenty of cameos from old faces such as Bryce, Layla and Micah. As well as two wonderful lead characters in Dominic and Faith. This truly was the perfect start to a new series, and I can't wait to read more from these crossover stories in the future; and I would 100% recommend Dangerous Game to others.

**I was kindly provided with an ARC by the Author in exchange for an honest review**

This is the first book by this author, and I liked it... I know there is more to the story, given it's a cross over romance but that didn't mean the book lacked for anything. It most certainly did not lack anything. But it has me wanting to go and read the rest of these books that cross over into this world. The level of alpha feel to this book was off the charts. I am a sucker for a good alpha male, and this author sure as hell knows how to write them.

Dominic's life is anything but normal. Working alongside his father made it dangerous... He had always had a thing for his sister's best friend,... Actually a little more than a thing. He loves her, and he doesn't want to bring her into the messy world that was his life. It was never the right time But once his father is no longer around, and things started to change for him and his family in this dark mafia world.

Faith has always loved the forbidden, her best friend's brother. She was always intrigued by everything but things never when further than in her head, and life went on and she went on to marry someone else, who turns out to be a complete a**hole. They didn't last... But it has her trying to put her life back together, and when Dominic invites her to go and stay at his family's hotel. She was not going to pass that up.

These two together were intense. The sexual tension between them was thick as hell. The chemistry too and Faith saw a side of Dominic that not many people saw. A softer side. He's usually a ruthless and dangerous man. It is how he has grown up. But he was always something different when he was around her. He could still bring this woman to her knees with just a glare, but she was never nervous or scared of him.

What unfolds through these pages with have your head spinning, and have you on the tips of your toes flipping page after page. There were many twists and turns throughout this book that I did not see coming. I love it when an author can throw me off track with just one sentence and this author nailed that!

As much as I want to lay this whole book out.
This will not be my last read of the authors' work! I cannot wait to read more of this author's world she has created. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Dominic Corsino's father ran the city until his death and now it has fallen on Dominic to control the family interests. Yet he knows he can't do it alone and although he wants out of most of the criminal aspects of the business he needs to have some power still. He asks for help from his brother-in-law Bryce Chandler and several of his fellow FBI agents.

Faith Hilliard is the best friend of Layla Chandler, Dominic's younger sister. When Faith is double crossed by her soon to be ex-husband, Philip, Dominic comes to her aid and offers her a place to stay and a new job.

As Dominic and Faith deal with their past feelings for one another, they must also contend with Dominic's enemies who are coming out of the woodwork to get anything to use against him. Can Dominic still hold onto Faith knowing what he has to do to save his empire?

This was such a fantastic book and I loved it from start to finish!! I can't wait for more in this series and I loved the combination of the two series together.

I loved Dominic as he was a man that was so torn. He had been kept away from so much of the business and then was forced into it with the death of his father but he knew he still had to have some control over everything to prevent terrible things from happening. He cared about Faith for such a long time and I really loved the two of them together!

Faith was awesome and I think I wanted to kill her husband Philip for how he tricked her with their divorce. I was happy that Dominic gave her a job and a place to stay but I understood why she didn't want it to look like she was taking his handouts.

Their was so much chemistry between Faith and Dominic and I really wanted them to be together right from the beginning but I also could understand why Dominic wanted to keep Faith as far away as possible from the world he was in. There were so many secrets and there were definitely some people set out to expose all of the secrets.

I loved how Bryce helped Dominic out as much as possible and gave him his brother Reed and a few others to help him get things straightened out before he decided what he was going to do. The FBI boys provided lots of valuable information through the book.

I hated Cadoc Cartwright as I knew he was trying to use Faith as a way of getting to Dominic and I definitely did not trust him at all!

The twist at the end with the fighting pit was intense and I was freaking out a little for sure! The scene definitely turned my stomach!

I was so mad and grossed out at the end for what happened to Faith . I was so happy that Dominic and Reed were able to get there and finish things off!

The end was awesome with what Dominic did for Faith and I am really hoping we get more!!

One of the many things that I love about L.P. Dover is how she can incorporate any of her characters in any of her other books. It leaves so many options for the voices that readers fall in love with to see them again. This book was one of those moments. We get to see Dominic in his full glory and his fall for Faith. It was beautifully written and kept my attention the entire time. Thank you so much for the delightful words.

Dangerous Game by LP Dover is kind of an anti-mafia read. Dominic takes over as the head of his family, but he wants out of "the family business". Faith is Dominic's sister's best friend and she is in the middle of a divorce. She stays with Dominic while dealing with the ugliness of her breakup. There is plenty of angst from Faith's marriage dissolving and Dominic's attempts to steer the family 'straight'.

I appreciated that there wasn't much angst between Faith and Dominic. There was always attraction, but she was married. Now that she is back on the market, Dominic doesn't waste time. I appreciated that. There was plenty of other angst and danger to keep the story moving forward. I adored Faith! She was such a great heroine. She isn't a shrinking violet but she isn't blind to her mistakes either. Faith is honest about who she is and I found that was really refreshing.

Dangerous Games does have a bit of a crossover from the Armed and Dangerous & Circle of Justice series and I love when authors do that. If you haven't read that series, I recommend it. I did feel that the suspense/danger of Dangerous Game was probably more intense that the previous stories which worked great for me! I enjoyed the characters and the story, but I still felt like it wasn't anything really 'new' in the genre. While that won't detract from readers who love the genre and trope, some readers might find it trite.

  •   Trope: mafia, Best Friend's brother

  •   Triggers: none

  •   Series/Standalone: stand alone (you don't need to read the crossover books to enjoy this one)

  •   Cliffhanger:
    Spoilerno

  •   HEA:
    Spoileryes

The Eagle Elite series by Rachel Van Dyken, Fallen Princess by Chantal Fernando,  ...then you will probably like TITLE OF BOOK!

This is kind of a new genre to me - anti-mafia romance! I'm not a lover of Mafia type stories so this really intrigued me.

Dominic has taken over the "family" in the aftermath of the death of his father and uncle. He's determined to make them legit but at the same time secure their businesses from the remaining hardline mafia families. He does have another little problem to deal with - his attraction to his sister's best friend. He was aware that the attraction was mutual but his sister didn't want to mix Faith into the family business, especially when they were trying to leave it behind themselves!

Faith is living a cliched nightmare. She caught her husband banging the new hire at work - the firm they both started! When he pulls a fast one and leaves her with nothing she has to rely on the generosity of her bestie and her brother. But will the offer of a new job with Dominic solve her problems or add to them??

I have to admit I loved Dom's approach to Faith's husband when he first meets him. I expected the slime ball to wee himself! He ties himself in knots occasionally straddling the line of "the Family" and his family. Faith is never a damsel in distress just a woman with a wrinkle or two to solve but she's never too proud to accept help. She sees her flaws and embraces them.

I hadn't read any of the Circle of Justice series and I'm going to correct that ASAP - FBI assassins have got my attention.

I struggled with this story. In fact, I almost atopped reading it on more than one occasion. It did pick up a bit around the 25% mark, but not enough for me to be able to really connect with the characters or the story.

Dominic and Faith could have been great, the mobster trying to be better and the woman wanting more should be a compelling read, but it felt flat to me.

I'm not able to recommend this title.
