The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because I find the way Green's teenagers talk and think to be unrealistic. I shouldn't judge. I was one once, and a bright one, but there's something just TOO clever about them. Ponder over. I still loved them though!

And I did love the beautiful story and characters of Gus, Hazel and the peripherals, it was a lovely account of teenage cancer sufferers, how they feel about it, what other family members go through.

And I did cry. More than once. Alongside Ways to Live Forever and Before I Die, another to entry into the genre.

I can’t believe I never read this book before. I’ve seen the movie, I even own it (I do not own a lot of movies). But this book was definitely better then the movie 10/10

There's no doubt that this was a great book. Every single page beckons you to flip the page and be awed by the characters, plot and everything that generally happens.
This is one of those books that you should read if you're in the mood for something that is really sad, but heart warming at the same time.
This is one of those books out there that I will always recommend to a person that is into books.

I did think it was pretty amazing. I didn't know what to expect and I'm happy I went into it knowing nothing other than there were teens with cancer in it. That was literally all I knew. The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life. I recommend this to pretty much anyone. Except maybe folks who have recently lost loved ones to cancer. I think it would be too much for my friends and relatives who have lost people they love over the past couple of years.

I read this book in one-sitting. The plot was nice and soft and I generally enjoyed reading it. Also the feeling of loss and loneliness was so tangible that I actually felt my heart wretched.
Overall it was a lovely piece though it wasn't spotless.

25th June 2014!!!
I thought why not do a re read of this book cause you know the film is coming out. But I wanted to experience more this time around, so I listened to the audiobook. I listened to the whole seven hours of this book and gosh was it worth it. I loved the lady who is reading this book to us. Kate Rudd. She had a lot of expression in her voice which made the story real and she gave you the feel for it. This audiobook was well done and I'm thankful for this book being my first audiobook I've ever finished from start to finish. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook.

Emotions, emotions, emotions. I sorry i can't write a review atm. Im kinda still crying, and abit depressed by this book. i'll write one maybe later on.

But one last thing to say to John Green.

THANK YOU!!!!!

Ends come with beginnings. Life is a simple impermanent thing. And this story depicts exactly how unpredictable and REAL life can be and how we must cherish everything. A story that was found in loss. A story that was built on courage and strength. And a story that bloomed like a flower at its peak, simply beautiful.

You only live once? No! You only DIE once. You live everyday.. You smile, you frown, you cry, you laugh, you rage, you hurt, you scream, you choose, you decide, you love.. So you should LIVE every single day, live them to the fullest you can.

This story made me fall in love, broke my heart and put the pieces back together. Simply beautiful.

This book was absolutely perfect. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time reading it and even through the book due to how much emotion I was feeling at the time. I could really relate to Hazel in so many ways. I do not have cancer but the way she thinks and says things, is the same way I would react to those situations.
The only thing bad I would have to say about this book is it swears A LOT! I am not a fan of swearing but for this book I ignored the vulgar so I could enjoy this book. I'm reading it for the second time at the moment, and may I say it is just as good as the first time I read it.
Hazel is obsessed with this book called "An Imperial Affliction" and I think "The Fault in Our Stars" just may be my "An Imperial Affliction". I highly recommend this book. READ IT!

The Fault In Our Stars was a beautifully written book by John Green. I started reading it just yesterday after school. I had read 2 or 3 chapters until I put it down. Later I continued to read from 8 till 12 but put the book down at quite a few times. I woke up at 4 in the morning to continue reading it was bugging my brain to have stopped because of the way the book is, I seriously wish I had continued to read from 12. The current time is 9 in the morning. The novel I was reading for 5 hours was also the novel I had to hide to pretend I wasn't awake because I was really determined to finish before the sunrise.
The reason I was so determined was because I, like any other reader (maybe not) am a very passionate reader. When I first heard about the book I thought it was boring but when I read the blurb at the back... I was like I have to read this! I thought the book was really good as in detailed. I wouldn't say it gives you a lot of suspense because some parts get straight to the point. I just love how there is tragedy and romance in it. They go together if you're a good writer so congrats to John Green. The book was amazing and I know I will be thinking about it for the rest of the day because I love it so much and what happened affects me.
I recommend this book to anyone like me or rather say grade 7 and higher because of some parts. I mostly recommend it to those passionate readers out there.
Take my advice and if there is a book you should read it should surely be this one!
