Not a fan of manwhores and over the top other women drama it just cheapens the book
Rating:2 stars
Overall, it was not a completely bad read, but it was not exceptionally good either.
Up to now I liked all of Vi Keeland's and Penelope Ward's books and sometimes I even loved some of them, so I believed that this one wasn't going to be an exception. But it kind of disappointed me.
Those two authors tend to give more attention to the male lead characters and make them exceptionally likable and kind of write their heroines as an afterthought. The men in these novels have the best lines, the sweet gestures, the smart mouths, the upper hand in sex, the successful career, the women, the money and to top it all of... the great looks. The heroines on the other hand are kind of boring, typical, everyday girls with blah looks and usually don't say much. They just smile and nod to everything smart the male interest says.
That kind of pisses me off.
That annoying feeling started pretty early on with Playboy Pilot.
* Captain Carter Clynes (Aka. Triple C or Trip). Well, that's a cool name. I give the authors that much.
Well, Carter is a pilot and the only things I learnt about him is that he likes adrenaline rushes, the Beatles and sex. As always, women starve for his attention without him even trying. They have no dignity when it comes to Carter. They just run around with no personality or self respect, throw themselves at him and when they see him with Kendall (the heroine) instead of being discreet, like normal women, they remind him of all the great sex they used to have in the past and all but say to him: "Oh please Carter, just have sex with me NOW in front of your new girlfriend!".
What. the. fuck!
Who does that?
I found it completely unrealistic. And Carter was always feeling uncomfortable and apologizing to Kendall because before he met her and was single he liked to have sex with grown, consenting adults. Why should he apologize? He did nothing wrong.
*Kendall. First of all, slut-shaming is a huge NO-NO for me.
She called a whore and a slut every girl Carter has ever slept with. Soooo... if she slept with him that would automatically make her into a whore? Great logic.
And because she didn't want to be like all the other girls she decided not to sleep with Carter. BUT, she followed a complete stranger with a history of using women across the world where she slept half naked in the same bed with him, hugged him, made out with him repeatedly, grinding on his erection, took baths with him, asked him if he wanted a naked hand job by her because he had a boner and she felt sorry for him and went to clubs wearing only a scrap of fabric and no underwear. In Dubai. A country where is literally illegal to roam the streets with indecent clothes. And then whined and cried about being arrested when she already knew that she was doing something illegal.
I rest my case. Kendall is kind of an idiot.
And I disliked her not only for her judgmental behavior but also because she was a hypocrite, a big crybaby and a reckless, spoiled kid. She was born and raised in a filthy rich family, never worked a day in her life and inherited a huge amount of money from her grandfather. Her grandfather's last wish and the only condition for Kendall to take his money was for her to have a son before the age of 26. And of course Kendall wanted the money so much that she was planning on actually having the baby and then giving it away for adoption. Ok. I'm kind of weirded out.
Kendall has more than enough money. Extremely expensive clothes, money to buy tickets to Rio de Janeiro and Dubai and stay in expensive hotels while doing nothing. But it isn't enough. She is willing to have a baby and put it out for adoption to get more money? And she judges other people for their decisions? Yep, huge hypocrite.
So, hence the 2 stars rating.

SWOON ALERT. SWOON ALERT. Attention, Carter is going to steal your heart and throw away the damn key! You will be ruined for all other book boyfriends once you meet him. You can certainly bet on that… WOW. This book is unbelievable. And I don’t mean that the story is hard to believe, but in a way that will make you just sit back and think about fate and true love. Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland have surpassed my expectations for this one. At first I was a little skeptical though, because these fateful meetings did seem a bit farfetched, but when you look at the true love that exists within the pages you can’t help but WANT to believe that it could happen. With that being said, from the moment I opened this book I was HOOKED. The authors put together a story that not only makes readers hearts bursts, but a story with well-developed characters, an interesting and unique plot, and a few major twists that will leave you gasping and praying for miracles. Each and every time I read a book written by either of these authors I know I am going to be soaring on a wild ride filled with adventure and love. This is especially true for this novel. There are some sad moments, some sexy moments, and some extremely sweet ones which leave all of us readers own our toes throughout. Fans of the author and those who enjoy lovely reads that will truly touch your heart should definitely pick up this book. I highly recommend it to all!

This book was such a good ride (haha). The adventures that these two go on had me gobbling this up. The banter was great and the development was good also. I loved the narrators of this book also.
4.5 stars
I had read a book by Vi Keeland before and liked it a lot, but I've never read one co-written with Penelope Ward, who is another author I was looking for to read sooner or later. Well, it was about time, since despite being an usual contemporary romance story, it was entertaining to listen to and it kept me wondering what would happen to the two main protagonists.
The reason why it was a page turner is because the characters are always in motion after their first encounter. The story starts with Kendall Sparks, our main female protagonist, trying to decide which flight to take. We don't know why she wants to take a flight as her reasons are explained much later. Her dilemma is interrupted by a fascinating man named Carter. He ends up suggesting a destination to her and to his surprise, she ends up on his flight. Yes, because he is a sexy pilot and as Kendall fast learns, he's also a playboy. But she ends up following him anyway, and the two embark in a short journey across the world.
I liked the premise of this book because like I said above, the characters were always in motion because they actually traveled a lot. Their time together was short but intensely lived, and they ended up falling for each other. But Kendall had to make a decision. She needed to understand what to do with her life. Ultimately, although she decides what to do, life decides for her and everything changes.
I actually liked Kendall as a character. She grew up in a rich family and lived a lavish life, but she was not a snob and ends up realizing that money aren't everything, that sometimes in life you just need somebody who loves you by your side to help you go on with life. Yes, of course you can't live with love only, but I don't want to add more because it would spoil some of the plot.
Carter, despite being a playboy who basically had one night stands with most of the female crew of his airline, was a serious man with a soft heart who cared about other people a lot. He used sex to escape a relationship and not suffer again. That was why he also was a pilot, he liked to run away from his life and not think about being with the same person or the same place for more than a couple of days. When he meets Kendall, it's like she makes him realize that he can't keep on doing that and she helps him settle down and face his demons.
If you like a lighthearted romance with well crafted characters and a plot that will make you turn your page to find out what happens to Kendall and Carter, then read this book.

— Carter nėra paprastas pilotas, jis turbulenciją gali sukelti ne tik lėktuvui, bet ir moterų širdims.
Good banter with cute vibes between Cater and Kendall.
