I am a fan of this writing duo, but this book didn't live up to my expectations. Usually I will finish off a book like this within a day or 2. This book I started, then put on hold after a couple of chapters, then had to start again when I eventually got back to it after running out of other things to read.

To be fair, as soon as I come across a "love at first sight" plotline, I do a mental eye-roll. I'm not against the idea per say, but give me something to base it on! Let's face it, when our couple first meet there doesn't seem to be anything special enough in their interaction that would get the guy to go against his usual modus operandi (trying to not to give away spoilers). Maybe if he had been watching her do something special/unusual or interact with someone else in a meaningful way to - basically anything to set her apart from all the other beautiful women he sees. But in this case, there was nothing. She was sitting there flipping through a magazine. Wow, yep can see how that made her special. I think the reason it was so hard for me to get into the story is that it took me a while to actually care about the characters.

I also find it annoying when backgrounds are introduced that seem either irrelevant, or inconsistent with the character being developed. The girl is rich. And yes, while this is relevant to the highly improbably plot point, there was virtually nothing in her behaviour to backup this fact. Any mention seems to be an after thought - yes her top was expensive, she mentions that she usually stays at high end hotels, and she can afford to travel on a whim (although
Spoiler she seems to be able to travel at will later in the story after she's lost her money too
). I feel like this could have been used more to either flesh out the character, or at least for a bit of comedic relief.

That being said, once I got into the story, I did enjoy it and will continue to read offerings from this writing team.

didn't live up to the hype. full of inaccuracies.

Method: audiobook

Rating: 3/5 stars

H rating: 4/5 - Carter. Idk..I did like you and I respected how you were hesitant to start a relationship after your ex, that was a hard blow..but there was just something I wasn't a fan of I guess.

h rating: 3/5 - Kendall. I wasn't a huge fan of yours, I did think your reasons were selfish, yes you didn't at the end, but your huge fault to me was that you left without getting all the information.

Drama: 4/5 - The baby and the money.

Thoughts: Ehh I did like it, but not a favorite. I was not expecting the baby part, so that was a good plot twist.

3 Stars..I liked this one but didn't connect with it as much as I did the first two vi-pen books. I loved Carter, his heart, loyalty and Manwhore ways I just didn't feel like I was fully able to connect with them together..their friendship and love was quick, real and overwhelming in so many ways, but I was missing something. It wasn't as natural of a connection as the first two stories. As always this is my opinion and as I sit on it, might change. I'm so grateful to have been able to read this one and can't wait for more from these two. I'm addicted and there is no cure!!

Read for Nerdy Dirty & Flirty

I really enjoyed this story. What's not to love about a playboy and the good girl? Kendall is taking a trip to spend some time alone to make an important decision. Carter is a pilot. They have a meet cute in the sky lounge and sparks fly. Since she has not decided where she is going he tells her to go to Brazil. He ends up being her pilot. Then they spend his layover together. They spend time getting to know each other and being friends. She knows it can't go anywhere, he agrees but he would be ok with sex. Kendall does not want to add a broken heart to her list of problems. I loved their adventure and how we learned about Carter a little bit at a time. I couldn't help but love his character. Super fun read!

A travel adventure, romance? Sign me up or in this case buy me a ticket! I loved the adventure the couple went on, and the retirement community. It was a fun read, but I did feel like the surprise baby theme was a bit overdone. I liked the almost telenovela aspect of this book.

You know when things go together well, like strawberries and champagne, cheese and crackers, well add Penelope and Vi to the list. These girls know how to write alone, but when they get together and collaborate, we get magic with their work with characters like Perky and Trip.

Carter is a pilot that is happy distancing himself from everyone, flying from city to city exploring the world at his own pace. Until he meets Kendall. He finds her in an airport lounge, deciding where she is about to buy a ticket to trek to. After spending a little time chatting, he asks her to come to Rio with him. What has she got to loose........ a million things come to mind.
From here, we travel with Trip and Perky as they come to terms with lost loves, heartache and troubled pasts. It is a whirlwind of a journey that takes them more than a mile high!

I am always very excited to get my hands on a Vi and Penelope book, together or alone, their novels are brilliant. I may be a bit forward, but I think this is their best book yet. These two characters had me traveling with them. I was smitten, amused and sadden and just wanted them to find their place. Their story is one not to be missed.

I received a copy for an honest review.

5 star review of Playboy Pilot
Where do I even start with these two?
Vi Keeland has such a great voice when it comes to the funny and swoony, when hilarity ensues, nine times out of ten- its Vi. And she is really book smart (see what I did there) apparently also very knowledgeable about Bingo, so there’s that.
Penelope’s voice is strong when it comes to emoting and being an empath- those passionate scenes- the WTF worthy moments, are most typically Penelope. And Penelope is pretty much in my top three realms of authors. To me, she does no wrong. Also, I love calling her on all the scenes she wrote- I got them all right, score!
Now riddle me this Batman- when you put these two together, what do you get?? New York Times Best Selling Authors, that’s what you get- and I don’t take that lightly. These are some serious authors. I mean hard core authoring goes on between these two. And just when you think you can’t take it, they get all up in there and blow your mind. ;)
Kendall is the perfect heroine. She’s like the textbook Goldilocks. She’s sassy- but not TOO much where it’s comes across as, “Who the eff is she and why do I hate her?” and not TOO little because then we would say “PUSHOVER!!!” No, Kendall Sparks is JUST RIGHT. She has just about everything going for her- beside the fact that she has to make a damn near life altering decision with not much time to spare and that’s when she meets Carter.
Oh Carter, Carter Clynes- I’ll give it to you straight. While most Penelope and Vi’s heroes are scorching hot- Carter is on another planet. Like if Chance were Pluto, and Graham were Uranus (tee hee) then Carter is freaking Mercury. And I don’t know if you know much about Mercury- but it’s like a bajillion degrees (its science- look it up). He flies through the skies with the greatest of ease, but when it comes to his life- and getting close to people of the opposite sex- he’s kind of sucktastic. But it’s not like he was born that way- he was shaped that way from a relationship that really messed him up- and I kind of have to say, I absolutely LOVED how open these two got with each other.
This book has everything- fun nicknames, some raunchy elderly people, hot sex, a freaking crazy plot twist that bangs everything up and hikes up the angst, leather jackets, the Beatles, foot massages for an old man who calls you Brucey, and much much more. There’s one part that I absolutely hated though, when it was over!!! It’s one of those books you wish you could unread instead of reread and say- “oh yeah I remember that part”. You really just want to say “holy hell that’s hilarious and I am so happy to be reading this for the first time,” all the damn time. Each page was like a fan girl’s gift. So Vi and P- thank you for the gift that is your writing. And just- PLEASE DON’T STOP, like ever….
