For me a truly enjoyable book. I don't know if that was aided by my connections to some of the geography / places that shape the narrative or the way Anne evolves over the course of time when our nation underwent very significant changes for women and their role in society. Regardless of the 'why', I can think of no other historical fiction that inspired me to expand my knowledge on the topic and further bring it to life as much as this title has.

A well written, deep insight of a historical novel into the life of someone overshadowed by her husband. Researched, thought out and beautifully written.

Probably because I'm a sucker for anything to do with Anne Morrow Lindbergh, but not attached to any particular vision of her, I really enjoyed this. I would have murdered Charles Lindbergh, so I guess perhaps it's good a better woman ended up married to him. :-) Very involving, hard to put down.

I'm still not sure how I feel about this book. It was difficult for me to feel sympathetic for Anne Lindbergh and I feel like the author spent the majority of the book trying accomplish just that by showing what a controlling and manipulative man Charles had been. I quit reading the book about three times because it was so frustrating to watch Anne excuse and accept her husband's behavior. On the other hand, I feel like it was an accurate depiction of what it is like to be in a abusive/controlling relationship. As an author I suppose you want to inspire strong feelings in your readers and I feel like she was successful in that. I don't think I liked the book as a whole, but I definitely felt a range of emotions as I read and did get wrapped up in the characters. So as you can see, I'm still ambivalent about this book.

Interesting take on being the wife of a "hero". Enjoyed it and learned so much.

Such a fascinating story. I didn't know much of the Lindbergh's story except the basics that he flew the 1927 solo flight across the Atlantic and the tragic kidnapping of Anne and Charles first baby, Charles Jr. There is SO much more to the story. I loved the author's note in the back of the book "Why do we love the Lindberghs? Because of Anne, I realized when I finishing writing [b:The Aviator's Wife|13642950|The Aviator's Wife|Melanie Benjamin|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1345153864s/13642950.jpg|19258153]. Anne - tender, courageous, resilient Anne - is the reason we all "love the Lindberghs."

I loved it and am curious to find out more about the Lindberghs and especially Anne.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It just dragged on a bit toward the end.
