I am now staring at the wall having an existential crisis and a mental break down.
What happened to me?
I’ve never been so disturbed while reading.

Caden is the most confusing character I’ve read so far: he says all the right things and does all the wrong ones.
He is a perfect sociopath. And yet the more he is with her, the more he becomes human.
He communicates with her through songs.
But he doesn’t understand the concept of consent. Like at all.
So many times I was struggling between hating him and loving him.
I think I was in the same state of mind as Billie.

That’s why the author did a brilliant job. This is impossible to be indifferent.

If you are triggered by sexual assault and rape, don’t. Just DON’T.
This is an important part of this story.
Your mental health worth a lot (more than a book).

If you have read God of Malice by Rina Kent, I think you will find here a better story.

This book was a whole beast. Like it was batshit crazy with gang wars, dark spice, mafia elements, fighting, obsession, blackmail, and more. But regardless, I thought it was good! i enjoyed the world Lola King created. One where everyone has layers, where the person you thought was evil and crazy, actually has real demons of their own. The MMC has barely any (if any at all) redeeming qualities and the FMC, despite her desire to get out of this life, still did bad shit in her past. But they find each other, and despite a ~~very~~ rocky start, they find love, and it was heartwarming to see two monsters find love and find that they deserve love as well.

That being said, it was a LOT so 3.5 stars for me ⭐️

Dark, twisted, psychotic. Caden was beyond but so obsessed with Billie. Like I don’t know how he redeems himself… but he does. But wow, he’s messed up.

Billie Scott and Caden King. Billie is an amateur MMA fighter for the North Shore. Caden is an enforcer, of sorts, for the Kings. The North Shore and Kings are two gangs who have been fighting for years. When Billie was caught once by the kings, Caden introduced her into a kink that she is ashamed of. He lets her go, years later they run into each other and Caden decides to use her for his own gain by blackmailing her with a video he took of the night he took her. This starts a rocky relationship that was both hot and disturbing at times. Both characters are strong in their own rights. I really like that Billie was a boss a$$ b$$ch. The spice was also really hot in this book. I really enjoyed it.
