As the third book in this series, I had higher hopes that the author would have figured a few things out. Unfortunately for us, the readers, that is not the case.
Once again, there were parts of this book that felt like they were trying to be Anne Rice's Beauty stories. The characters remain flat, and their motivations, passions, dreams, and desires remain unexplored. We are *told* so much and *shown* very little.
The world-building gets even more confusing in this story. Suddenly, there are multiple realms! Some portals connect all of them! People have been kidnapped by all of them, and the demon king secretly has something over everyone even though he's terrified and weak. None of it makes sense. None of it is explained or developed.
While not the worst books I've read, these aren't good.

This book was somewhat of a disappointment compared to number two. I didn't hate it, but it didn't hold my attention like the others. I would go days without listening to it, which for me is crazy.
Finely being in the prison drug on and on. I didn't understand the need for her to be there for so long. Also, Demon King (Who's name I never remember) wasn't really involved with her captivity at all. I also felt like the deal he made actually made no sense. He literally got nothing out of it except taking Finely away... which never seemed like enough of an incentive.
I did enjoy that Nyfain and Finely were able to communicate through feeling through the bond. I also found it hilarious that Nyfain would pleasure her while she got tortured. Even though it was fucked up it gave me some seriously uncomfortable giggle sessions! ;)
I don't know really what else to say because the entire book was just Finely being held captive and being tortured. I did feel like it was slightly unnecessary to have some chapters from Hadrials perspective. I liked him less being in his head than I did when he was just a side character. I would have rather had the perspective from Nyfain but I kind of see why the author choose to do it the way she did.
I also felt like this could've easily and wonderfully been the end of the series. I will read the next but it will have to improve from this one to make it worth it.

Couldn’t finish this book. I got through the series prior to difficulty. I try to finish series just in case something may change my mind! The FMC is just not for me. I found her so unlikable. The chitchat between the core parts of the book are just too drawn out and repetitive.

Major character building moment for Finley. More of a band of misfits novel.

omg - can’t wait for book 4
This book was hard, but gentle. Everything I loved from the first two books was present here in spades. Plus more demons, dungeons, torture, and good old debauchery. And battles and treachery. Book 4 is going to be bonkers.
