I did feel that it could have done better to flesh out a lot of the concepts. It felt like id only got a half way experience for the mythology, the romance, the story going on with her brother. I'm hoping Ruthless Vows fills out some more of the world because I was left wanting to a degree that surprised me for a book of this length.
I enjoyed the characters even if they werent fully fleshed out. I felt such sadness for Iris and relished all of the little moments of joy. I especially enjoyed the friends she made in her new life.
Fingers crossed we get a little more in book #2!

Mailing letter feels so romantic and old fashioned that it reminded me of one bf I did that with and just loved the feeling of every day having a new response.
This whole storyline was just amazing and the world building has my heart aching the whole way until she finds her brother. The twist at end had me almost crying & on a chokehold.
I definitely need a physical copy to have as a trophy! 📚📖

I listened to a good chunk of this on audiobook and I would really recommend that too! the two voice actors for the dual POVs were such a treat. The writing was also amazing, given the entire book was about two authors this makes sense haha. Definitely recommend!
