Millionaire romance

I enjoyed this story so much more than Priest. It’s interesting being inside the brain of a man in a romance novel. A adjustment for me, for sure… but I can see the intention and reason for it. It read very similarly to many other billionaire romance books I’ve read.

The Catholic practices were fetishized some, but not as much or the way they were in Priest. The spiritual struggle was so much more real, relatable and common, in my opinion.

I found myself, again, caught off guard by the spirituality that was genuine, raw and relatable. The struggle with the structure and dealings of the Catholic Church and finding the good and necessary in the institution that is as corrupt as it is. It was such an interesting mentality. But then the spice was undeniably spicy. And the relation between bedroom fun and spirituality isn’t something I am used to having fill the same book.

‼️Spoiler Tw:‼️

Parental death

Let me start by saying that yes, there will be an abundance of sex and talk about sex in very explicit writing on this book but there will be a lot of talk about how one who “hates” God retrieves back his belief in God.

I am not a religious person and a lot of time during this book, I felt that I can understand where Sean was coming from. Why he can’t understand Tyler, Zenny or his mother. There were also some points in the story where I felt that maybe, if Sean can find his way back to God that others can to. As Zenny said, “you can do both” when it comes to thinking that God is guilty of a lot of things but at the same time still pray to him.

For me this book was beyond better than Priest in terms of the characters and the story.

I truly did love this from start to finish.

did this take me nearly 4 months to finish???? 🙃🤫 yessss….

BUT not because it was boring or whatever but like 95% of this book is pure smut & I listened to it when I ~needed to~ okaaay

~

now let’s talk some more about it::

💚the AUDIO the AUDIO the AUDIO 🙇🏼‍♀️🎧 Jacob Morgan is now a new fav narrator of mine. His voice is HOT and fit so damn perfectly for this book. listening is an *experience* just trust me

💚something happens in this book that is real depressing & hit close to home for me so I got real sad & felt my chest actually clench

💚i’m agnostic so I don’t care for religious subplots/plots that much. I still listen to these because the author knows how to write spice 👏🏼

💚i’d say the mmc had quite a journey & internal struggle in his beliefs of religion bc of having to go through some hard things which is a relatable aspect that when bad things happen over & over many people start to question in a higher power out there

💚this has age gap, the fmc experiencing what it’s like to have sexual experiences before she commits to becoming a nun, so very ~teach me daddy Sean vibes 👅~

💚this book did take me forever to listen to…obviously…so it wasn’t a story I HAD to know what happens. I wasn’t supremely attached to the characters or story. but the sparks between them are flyin’ and there’s no denying that

~

overall— would I recommend? yesss. I liked this one more than the first. I know there’s another after this I’ll more than likely listen to at some point! Sierra Simone picks these narrators so well & writes amazing smutty scenes
