I wanted to like this more than I did. It might have been due to the translation, but it was often difficult to follow who was being referred and tenses seemed inconsistent. We were more often told the heists were amazing and clever and Arsen is remarkable than ever having it demonstrated. There were moments I was hopeful it was developing into something more fleshed out, but it never really happened. I won't be continuing with the series.

The earlier stories feel more connected and are also just generally better but overall the book was a lot of fun to read.
For those reading the book with French as a second language, the vocab is not too complicated and definitely good for those at an intermediate level, but you might want to have an French dictionary handy as some of the more obscure words (obscure to me at least) tend to be important to the story, such as certain building features (like skylights, etc.).

Arsene Lupin wasn't what I thought it was going to be. That said it's a great catch me if you can book. There are several adventures that Arsene takes us on. I don't know if I liked the writing style, but I liked the stories. I liked the way he explained how each crime was committed and how he got away with them.

I enjoy this book. Most of the tricks employed by Lupin are psychological trick. I, as a reader, also guessing what is happening.

Questo volume contiene i primi 9 racconti con protagonista Arsenio Lupin, il celebre ladro gentiluomo. Io, come penso la maggior parte dei quasi quarantenni miei coetanei, abbiamo conosciuto da bambini un altro Lupin, Lupin Terzo, che sarebbe il pronipote di questo Lupin. E devo dire che, leggendo questi racconti, ho colto tante similitudini con l'anime di Lupin 3.
Peccato, i primi tre racconti mi erano piaciuti molto, ma leggendo i restanti sei sono rimasto deluso.
