This was a weird book. The second person point of view threw me off and I wasn't sure if I was going to finish it but it made the voice come across almost conversational and I kept reading. The praise on the back of the book kept referring to it as a thriller but I would definitely not call it that. It seemed more like a series of unfortunate events because of a woman who didn't know how to travel or how to get out of predicaments without using more lies and more secrets. Because of the second person point of view, I thought I should relate more to the main character but I didn't. I'm glad I read it because of the setting of Morocco but the reviews made it seem much more interesting then it was.

I have never read a book told totally in the second person. For this story, it works. It helps set a tone of uncertainty like I felt watching the Jodi Foster movie Flightplan, where you felt the character's uncertainty about what was going on and who they were.

This is a story of a character's struggle with her identity. It worked really well, until the book just ended. It did not feel resolved, but maybe that's how it needed to end.

At the end I felt that the main character just jumped from one situation to the next, never caring about the mess she left for others, so I lost some sympathy for her.

I usually base my judgement of a book on how much it drew me back to reading and how hard it was to put down. In that regard this book would get 5 stars. I was intrigued and enjoyed the ride. But the ending was too abrupt and left me hanging, and that took a lot away from the overall enjoyment of the book.

The narrators paranoia got to be very annoying very quickly, but overall i enjoyed this book and it was a quick read.

told in a sort of 2nd person, very unusual.
Loved the funny twist of a small random conversation the main character has, and how that just may end up being the answer to everything. Evolution.

If you like an ending that ties things up, this is not it.
If you like a narrator that draws you linearly/chronologically through a tale, this is not it.
This narrator is unreliable and frustrating on many levels, it is hard to get into her character's mind as many of her decisions are so very removed from reason.
That said, it was an entertaining listen.

This book reads fast and is very entertaining. No chapters and a continuous flow of events ( so you may want to read in one sitting) that seem sinister at times but not horrifying at all.
