First half of the book: spectacular, fantastic, amazing, wonderful. Loved the satire and the criticism of creative writing programs. The pacing felt really off to me in the second half, and I think that it could've done with about fifty more pages. It was very sudden and a big tone shift for me personally.

All I can say is: wtf did I just read? (In the best way). I read this in two sittings and don’t think I would have understood the plot nearly as well had I taken any longer to read it. It is much more bizarre and abstract than books I typically go for but its weirdness made it a page-turner; I was dying to get to the end and put all of the pieces together.

This deeply satirical book will be a fun read for anyone who enjoyed Alice in Wonderland but is looking for something a bit more modern and genre-bending (I wouldn’t fully categorize this book as “horror”; while there is certainly gore, the suspense makes it more of a thriller).

This book was an absolute mind fuck. I'm really sad that I didn't annotate this book with neon pink and yellow flags because holy moly that was a lot to think about. Awad's writing is beautiful. Extremely poetic and witty.
She really did pull an M.Knight Shyamalan there! By the end, I could not tell what was real and what was fake.
Some parts of the book I found rather confusing but I would not say this is a bad thing. Because the book takes place in a contemporary setting it's a little tricky to feel out certain plot details.
*Cough, Cough* the supernatural and the plot twist.
I know this book is sitting on a lot of lists and it's definitely worth getting your hands or your paws (because 'Hands are hard, Bunny'<3) on a copy.

This book was insane but I loved every second of it. When I picked it up I had heard of it being referred to as a ‘dark academia’ book, and while I guess this could be true, the tone of Bunny is very different from your typical college secret society and/or murder mystery trope. It lowkey comes together as a love child of Fight Club, Mean Girls, Frankenstein, and a little bit of the Secret History. Although that sounds odd, trust me, it works. I’m still shocked and I feel like I need to pick it back up again so I can go through and find all of the small hints that lead to the twists that wrap up the story. The ending left me satisfied and still very curious as to where Samantha will go from here.

At the beginning I remember thinking the characters were kind of boring stereotypes. Like great, another lonely student convinced she's too cool for the cool kids by her angsty friend, even though the cool kids are actually just trying to be nice. But that changed quickly ad the plot thickened, of course. And now I don't know what to believe!
Are the bunny boys real? Was Max real?? Was Ava real?? Are the bunnies witches and Samantha's more powerful them? Was it the pills and all the alcohol? Am I really to believe Samantha's love for Ava was entirely platonic? Or did she make Max (a projection of herself) so sexy to Ava because she wanted Ava to be in love with her? Is it all an allegory about loneliness and how we self-sabotage because of our egos and preconceived notions? Were Ava and Max personifications of Samantha's ego and id?
This book was so good!!!!
