One-sentence synopsis: Our dear detective Kinsey Millhone meets a man at the gym who is certain that a tragic car accident was actually an attempt on his life; after he gets murdered, Kinsey is the only one who realizes he had plenty to fear.

A fantastic addition to the Millhone series. I thought this one had the most interesting premise, in that it steered clear from the traditional client approaching her at her office. The mystery is pretty strong throughout. I thought the climax was appropriately paced, but there were some actions that seemed to come out of nowhere (I feel like Kinsey came up with the idea to X-Ray the corpse out of nowhere, and I would have SEVERAL questions before I tossed around that solution).

3.5 stars. This was another solid installment of the alphabet series.

It's hard enough to solve a case, but what do you do when memory loss is involved. Good luck Kinsey Millhone.

Maybe a 3.5. Ah, I get it now. These are just a version of a cozy mystery. I don't know why it took me so long to get it. I shall adjust my expectations accordingly. That does make a difference.

I liked this plot better than the others I have read. Lots of drinking in this (did we drink so much white wine in the 80s?). I'm not really sure why Sufi had to be involved at all. Seems that portion of the plot could have been handled differently and we wouldn't have needed Sufi at all.

I wonder if Kinsey ever feels guilt over the innocents like Alfie has who die due to her investigations.

better then the first one and way better then the second I think she is getting to be a better writer

A reread for me. Luckily it has been years since I read it before so I had forgotten whodunit. More complete review will be on my blog.
