I want to begin this by thanking Jessica Cage and her team for allowing me to review this book and providing a free copy via Booksprout. I want to quickly disclaim that pretty much all of my opinions about this book are incredibly dependent on my emotions while reading and personal preferences. In all honesty, I see a great number of people really enjoying the things that just didn't work for me.

I have been reading vampire stories since I first discovered Wattpad when I was 12 years old and it is such a treat to finally be finding good vampire romances with a truly diverse cast of characters. The premise of this story was so fun and interesting and I really enjoyed the way it tied in and connected to the first book. I enjoyed the humour and the banter between the characters quickly became one of my favourite aspects of the book. Domino and Whitney's relationship was very fun for me and I appreciated the way it not only began but progressed throughout the story despite all the craziness happening around them. I honestly probably would have enjoyed it a lot more if I didn't find half the other characters incredibly annoying (this is where that disclaimer comes in). I find that this book -despite presenting itself as otherwise- focuses more on the situation as a whole compared to the interpersonal relationships throughout that situation which is great for some readers but doesn't necessarily work for me.

I will be the first to acknowledge that many of my issues are greatly steeped in me projecting my own insecurities and past friend traumas but that's where I'm at and because I really couldn't get past it while reading I need to talk about it. Being the third friend sucks ass and watching Whitney discover that her two besties of 15+ years have been keeping a whole other life from her really struck a bad chord in me. This is something I would have been able to overcome if I felt like the topic surrounding feelings of betrayal and hurt was properly addressed and not disregarded but that didn't happen. "We can finally tell you about all our adventures," Like just shoot me why don't you cause what do you mean your adventures?? I tend to project myself onto the characters of the books I'm reading and all I could feel while reading the trio interact after the reveal was irritation. It was incredibly frustrating to experience feelings of being disregarded by fictional characters and I found there was no real conversation about the issue (which is something I come across A LOT in books that utilize this trope and it irritates me every time). Again, I am fully aware this is wholly a me thing but damn, It would be nice to get some closure for the characters put in these situations.

Jackie got on my damn nerves and she actively embodied every issue I've ever had with "hunter" characters. Out of all the characters I felt like she disregarded Whitney's feelings the most and consistently throughout the book. She doesn't like Domino and makes no effort to get along with him because he's a vampire even though he didn't choose that life for himself, fine that's whatever. She told off Whitney multiple times for apparently being selfish in some way or having to pull herself together, literally telling her off when she came back from essentially being kidnapped because her house got damaged in the process and Whit was dripping water on her floors as if she had any say in the matter. Her behaviour is explained away as hunter hardwiring and having to come to terms with all the changes and being forced to be around the nasty vamps but I just don't gaf and don't see that as any proper excuse for her consistent behaviour.

I honestly could probably say more but I realize this is turning a bit into a rant. Despite my issues with the characters I am enjoying this series a lot and find myself intrigued by what else could come of this world and its characters. I am especially interested in seeing what Likosa has up her sleeve as she is still largely a mystery despite her presence in both stories so I can't wait to see the next instalment!

“If I ever denied the freak allegations, that proved me to be a liar.”
“Don’t let fear make the choice for you.”
“This isn’t a damsel in distress story. She is more than capable of handling this on her own.”
“All parts of myself have been modified by your existence. I would do anything you asked of me.”

Thank you to the author for an E-ARC! Omg! Wow! I am obsessed with this series so much, this story is laugh out loud funny, and filled with lovable characters, hilarious FMC, lovable and caring friendships, sexy / hot dominant MMC, and a fast paced plot that keeps you on your toes!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this so much and I flew through this so quickly because it was just as diabolical , unserious, action packed, spicy, and extremely a funny good time!!!!!

The pacing and development of the story starts off so strong and I was intrigued from the very start! I loved the way Domino and Whitney clicked instantly, Domino’s dominance and entrance into the story had me obsessed with him from the jump! Their attraction with one another and vibe was so hot and fun! Their banter albeit is unusual and actually funny, this is definitely a rom com, you will definitely laugh at their obnoxious banter!

Whitney, oh yeah she is the perfect FMC, her confidence and the way she adapted to her life turning upside down was so intriguing ! She is funny, and she never shied away from the turn of events!

Maverick!! Ugh love him so much, this author always adds a cute protective animal within the plot and i’m here for it! Maverick did not disappoint and was perfect!

Lena and Jackie!! Wow wow! Love them so much! Their funny interactions with Whitney and unwavering support for each other was so pure and loving! I truly loved how close their friendship was and the multiple surprises and easter eggs surrounding them! Jackie was absolutely so funny and her digs / jabs / smart remarks throughout the story was the comic relief I didn’t know I needed!

Also the action scenes in this!!! *chefs kiss* the author really set the tone and was able to describe those scenes so well, it felt like I was watching a movie as I read.

& The spice scenes??? Whew! Domino is that man, and I’ll leave it at that.

If you enjoy romance with good comedy and an adventure, this might be for you!
Whitney is a successful art broker who's let go from her job at the beginning of the story. To forget her woes, she hooks up with the handsome stranger she's met at the book release party of one of her bff's. Little does she know that from that point forward, her life will never be the same again.

The chemistry between Whitney and Domino is chef's kiss, as is the banter of Whitney's besties. This book reads like you're having an evening with your friends, catching up on all the crazy stuff that they've been doing. It all takes place in the same universe as the first book in this series (I Accidentally Summoned A Demon Boyfriend), and the main  characters from the first book make an appearance. While you can read the book as a standalone, I can imagine that the cameos will be that much more fun if you've read the other book before.
I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a comedic paranormal romance with similar chaotic vibes as Kimberly Lemming's Mead Mishaps series.

Im puerto rican so i love dominos but this Domino oooooooo he is the best!! Whitney is amazing and i love her. Falling for that thick sophisticated vampire was bound to happen but her friends coming along for the ride is the best part. Jackie is my kinda girl!! I relate to her soo much. This book is spicy funny loving spicy. Did I say spicy?! Recommend you read!!!

Funny. Spicy. A wonderful trio of friends I’d like to know in-person. I loved the way Whitney reacted to learning about the supernatural world. It was sensible and relatable. The pace was a little too fast. I wanted it to last longer.
I took off 1/2 a star because I didn’t enjoy the special blood, special alien part. I liked Whitney being normal.

Whitney is every Black Woman who has ever excelled in her field only to be cut down by a system and company that was jealous of her talents and thought they could get away with devaluing her without being found out. Add a creepy former Supervisor who thinks firing an employee means the dating lanes are open and a bestie launching into stardom and you've got a recipe for an anxiety spiral.

But it's cool. No one has to know what actually happened...yet. Until said ex-boss crashes the party and lets the cat out of the bag. Then it's sexy Curator to the rescue! Deep voice, exquisite taste in alcohol, and a glare that could kill. Domino's everything Whitney fantasized about...and her worst nightmare. Oh, and he's a vampire. Like the kind that suck people dry and can only come out at night kind of vampire. And she isn't here for it! Until his world further upends her own.

This was a bloody good time and an exploration in kink and magic I wasn't expecting! And lots of blood. So sexy and like, so much blood. If you didn't think this was a vampire book, I'm telling you now, it absolutely is and I'm here for it! If someone pushed me up against a window and gave me an ocean view while deep in mine, I'd be screaming all night too. And just hope my besties understand why I don't want to kill him. And apologize for all the blood. Cuz there's just...a lot. And it's hot.

An excellent follow up to I Accidentally Summoned a Demon Boyfriend! The twists and turns just keep coming (like Whitney) and make me want to know more about this chaotic universe that Cage has brought alive.

Take a bite! Trust me.

Ohhh, this book was fun! I Accidentally Hooked Up with a Vampire by Jessica Cage was a ride, and I loved every second of it.

First off, I didn’t even realize this was going to continue with characters from I Accidentally Summoned a Demon Boyfriend, but when I tell you I was so excited to see familiar faces?! The way it all played out was intense but also hilarious (Jackie is a comedian). I was laughing, kicking my feet, and fully invested.

And let’s talk about Domino because whew 😅. That man knows how to express himself, okay? And some other things, but I’ll let you experience that for yourself. Know that it is definitely one of those they meet and someone’s instantly in love type of books but in the best of ways and makes sense.

I need to take a moment for Lena and Jackie because I love them… love them okay! If we don’t get a book about at least one of them, I’m gonna so bummed and I need friends like them in my life ASAP.

But the true star of the show… Maverick. Why can’t my cat be a Maverick!

Overall, this was such a fun, spicy, chaotic read, and I highly recommend it. A solid 4.5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️, and I’ll be seated for whatever Jessica Cage drops next!.

So much fun! The entire lore and take on vampires was different and kept me wanting more. Of course I was laughing the entire time hot AND funny! I loved seeing Rayna and Metice. I can’t wait to see who else we meet in this universe!
