It only takes one invitation to a secret club where inhibitions are left at the door for Gwen and JC to take the chance and spice up their love life. The parents of three small children feel they need this time to reconnect with each other. It's a time to open up boundaries and try new things. But when sharing comes into play will this be the one item that can make or break the marriage? Or will it tend to bring them closer together and open up a new way to communicate with each other? Although short, this novella really packs a punch. The scenes were expertly written and the story locks the reader in from the beginning. A great read!!

Oh wee, gosh, whew!!! That was really hot!!! *continues fanning myself*

As someone who hasn't read the series yet (to my never ending dismay), I didn't find any trouble reading this novella in its own. But of course, for maximum reading experience, then read The Found Duet first.

The Open Door is a steamy, titillating and scandalous novella about a married couple joining a sex club. It's the story of Gwen and JC, who have been married for years and have three kids. Juggling crazy work schedules, taking care of 3 little humans plus friend obligations, these two have barely enough time to theirselves and only manages a few sexy times in between, sometimes not even. However, their mutual love and respect to each other is very strong so they've decided why not attend one of these hush-hush parties to get a feel of it.

I must admit that I find myself pausing every now and then as I read on and relate to what Gwen was experiencing. Her fears and insecurities was something I think every normal married woman faces daily, myself included. Keeping the flames and excitement of a marriage is an endeavor that must be done together by a couple. You know the saying; it takes two to tango. And it is up to the married couple whether they will need music to get their groove on or dance their way to their own rhythmn.

Nevertheless, this story is an eye opener and will really make you take a good look (well, I did) at your married life status. I loved the author's realistic take in this story and how well it has turned out. I loved it and couldn't wait to read more from the author!

A New Spice!

The Open Door was a super steamy, mildly kinky story about these two trying to add some spice into what they think is a marriage lacking. But, upon this new journey they rediscover things about themselves and their relationship.
JC and Gwen are one of my favorite couples by Laurelin Paige! I will honestly read anything she writes about them so I’d love to have more of them in the future!

Hot, so hot! This story is steamy, sexy and just hot. Gwen and JC story a few years later, so better read the duet before this one. How their marriage is needing something to spark it up, the Open Door club gets them that spark. The kinky scenes are perfect. I enjoyed this novella so much.

Revisiting Gwen & JC (from Free Me & Find Me) eight years into their relationship and three kids later.  Still in love, juggling both of their jobs with kids, and still trying to keep the relationship fresh.  An invitation to "The Open Door" (the ultra exclusive private sex club mentioned in many of Laurelin's books) has Gwen wondering if she & JC need a little help in the spice department.  The book explores communication between the two of them with consent to what they are going to explore at the club and when they actually go and keep going.  Pretty soon questions arise and jealousy takes center stage as rules are broken and their relationship is reevaluated.  Quick read with characters from other books (Alayna and Norma) mentioned.

I devoured this book! As a parent of two, I remember the days when we just couldn’t seem to connect. Laurelin Paige tells the tale of two people still completely in love with each other but just don’t have the time to be anything other than parents. The Open Door is the story of JC and Gwen, who are given the opportunity to reconnect in one hell of a way! This hot, sexy novella will get you in the mood to rekindle your romance with your significant other ;)

I loved this novella. It was great to revisit JC and Gwen after all these years. This one was HOT HOT HOT! JC and Gwen were never lacking when it came to steaminess and they still aren’t, if anything their chemistry has gotten even hotter. So when the opportunity to visit the exclusive The Open Door they take it.

Gwen is an overwhelmed mother to three boys, she takes the opportunity that The Open Door presents to enjoy some time with her husband, to spice things up a little (not that they really need it). I love that Gwen is so real. She has insecurities. But she also has an ultra swoon-worthy husband in JC. He loves every single thing about his wife, including all her insecurities.

My only wish is that this was longer. I wanted more of The Open Door (which I truly hope makes some more appearances in future books), more JC and Gwen and more of Gwen and Alayna’s friendship. This book is a novella to The Found Duet, however, it is also a great introduction to a fantastic world that Laurelin Paige has created.

HOT DAMN!
What a sexy as hell read...

Well, to be honest, I was not expecting what I got when I dived into this. I knew it was going to be a sexy read. It's a Laurelin Paige book, it was a given. The author has written some of the sexiest books I've read before... and this was no different, and like most her other books, it held more than kinky sex, and bdsm elements. It held depth, and I actually feel like I’ve taken something positive away this book. Whether that was the authors intent or not, I’m not sure.

JC and Gwen are a favorite couple of mine and it was good to dive into their story a couple of years down the track. They are back and they're married, with three kids and I am no parent but those that are can probably relate to the way of life they now live, and how much things have changed for them. Nappies and sleepless etc, and work work work... It is a routine that can be so easy to fall into for any married couple with children, but after JC brings home an invitation to The Open Door (sex club) where you go and watch and even play sometimes. The invitation is too good to pass up, but after having three children Gwen isn't 100% sure she is comfortable enough with her own body to participate in front of many others... She's hesitant and I can completely understand that side of it, but JC manages to convince her, and it honestly didn't take much. He adores her, he loves her beyond belief and is loyal, loving and caring, so how can she not trust this mans words?

So, once they both agree... It's off to The Open Door, and holy fuck shit... As I said above, I knew this was going to be a hell of sexy read but... I was not expecting it to almost melt my kindle in my hands. It was seriously off the charts kind of hot and I devoured every single word... And although this is short steamy hot novella it still managed to hold more than just sex. It kind of gives out a message that just because you are married, and have children and your life has settled in a way yet is chaotic in another way... It doesn't mean you can't get out there and have fun with the person you love and that sometimes it is healthy to spice things up, to have fun, And that even though Gwen's body may have changed after having children and she may not be 100% comfortable in her own skin, it doesn't make her any less desirable, and JC proves that time and time again... He's the perfect husband! Well that's what I got from this novella, and in my opinion, every word was perfect, but I shouldn't have expected anything less than perfect from Ms. Paige. Her writing is always flawless and it's so easy to fall into a plot and lose the sense of time, or even day because I just get so fixated with her words, and the way she weaves them together to create a masterpiece such as this. This is definitely going on my re-read pile and I am praying she puts this in audio form! Absolutely loved this book!

5 HOT AS HELL STARS!!!
