I love this book. It's enticing and fun, while being inspiring and informative. The storyline is so well done, the layers of teh story and characters is great. I cannot recommend this book enough, it's a new classic.

The main character annoyed me at times, but what can you expect with a young adult main character. I really loved the storyline and appreciated that her Ojibwe culture shone through. This mystery hit on so many relevant issues that affect the indigenous community today. The main character is headstrong, compassionate and fierce. The ending pleased me and I enjoyed that this didn't become another romance novel.

I loved this, though I really should've checked out some reviews out before picking this up so I could've been aware of it covering the topic of sexual assault but that ended up surprising me. Sadly that did bring my rating down from a 5. Still a great book nonetheless!

ugh, the world building and scene setting boulley does to pull you into daunis' world is immaculate. she masterfully weaves this thriller and unveils clues to direct you and guide you without overdoing it. it felt written for herself and her community but to be enjoyed by others and i love how she balanced it. balanced welcoming readers into a world that is alive and present, without overly explaining. i'm excited to dig into warrior girl unearthed and so grateful for this ya fiction depicting a world that i grew up alongside of but very separate from.

Fuck, dude. For a YA novel it was dark. I had a little trouble getting into it at the start but once I was hooked I was literally screaming as everything unfolded. 4.5/5
